Update, since our new wargaming tiny pianist bumped my thread:

It's a brand-new summer, and the Thermostat Wars continue to rage, only now it's Frank cranking up the temperature because he's a crabby old man who also voted for Trump, and Miss Skimpy Sundress is entering the Very Special Time so now she's hot all the time. HAH!

Also, I miss @joyfool and @Detroit Hoser

Dammit, this thread had the prefect ending point! WTF KingofSwisslandWarman88 ?

It's a lovely day outside, and I sit in my cube swathed in my wool socks, hoodie and finger-less gloves. Would anyone else like a cuppa tea?

Starting last Friday, it's been humane in our office. Today it even boarded on comfortable. The guy from facilities mumbled something about balancing the heating and cooling air in an attempt to minimize condensation on the lines.
Whatever, just keep not freezing us to death please and thank you.

They must be doing subcooling and reheating to de-humidify. And IIRC you're on the shaded side of a crappy low bid office building that doesn't have enought thermostats. Prepare to deploy the parka.

We face south-southeast, but at least I'm on the exterior (windowed) side instead of the center of the floor where there's no sunlight and only cold air vents.
Facilities warned us whiners that it will be cold tomorrow as we're being graced by Deities in Suits. The Gods must not be allowed to sweat. They've promised to return us to humane temperatures on Thursday.

They don't turn down the thermostat, the cold claws of death just follow wherever the suits go.

:Puts hands on Rattie's ears to warm them (the hands, not the ears):
Maybe I need to get one of those stand-up-and-walk desks. It's be fine in here if I wasn't sitting still.

:: The stunned scientist crawls away from the fumes, gagging and choking. Suddenly he screams in horror as his lab coat slowly morphs into a pin striped suit. His despairing cries are chopped silent as the transformation reaches his head. He rises calmly to his feet, adjusts his FBI shades, and saunters out the door on a mission of unspeakable evil ::

Only if every eighth word out of his mouth is "organic growth."

Our investment capital is entirely self financed, supported by robust year-over-year growth in net income primarily generated by savings in personnel expenses. However, our current cost control program has run it's course and it appears that we need a new paradigm.
