Thanks Sunny. I did see the Daily Beast article after posting last night and it does seem to be somewhat damning, although maybe not to the degree you are implying.
But when I nominated her for this gig I was looking for a woman of demonstrated intelligence with a background in entertainment that wasn't so famous that she would outshine the show itself and Mayim Bialik still fits those criteria. I saw a portion of her week of hosting and thought she did a very credible job. YMMV. @leafrog - there are two Jeopardy! shows - a daytime version and a prime time version that runs after the evening news here. The prime time show is the one with the higher ratings and the one most people think of when they think of Jeopardy! As far as "special projects" to be named later, my impression was things like the College Bowl, the Teacher's Tournament and Celebrity Jeopardy. Like you, I'd hate to see some weird gimmicky game show spinoff too. |

I didn't know most of this, although I did remember the NYT kerfuffle when I thought back. Another idol with clay feet, I guess.

Mike Richards as in Kramer? I was hoping for Jimmy Carr, but Kramer would be entertaining. Giddy up!

2 points:
1) There’s no daytime version 2) The Mike Richards we’re talking about is NOT Kramer |

Or witness Duane Gish, PhD, (famous for the Gish Gallop) of the Institute for Creation Research, who got his PhD in the field for the sole purpose of pushing 'Scientific Creationism', simply so he could hold himself out as an 'expert'.
If you're actually pretty smart, which is required to get a PhD, you can, even if you believe bullshit. All you have to do is be willing to lie to yourself about what you found. |

Aren't they putting the belt on Mayim Bialik?
The right call would have been LeVar Burton, but sure, Blossom is fine I guess. <sideeye> |
