Put more wood consolidating epoxy on the porch deck and after it was full set, I started scrubbing some of the other areas with TSP. Still have more consolidating, sanding and filling to do, but it is moving along.
@Solfy @Oxirane I have some of the high traction strips on the front steps. When I started to lift one, the glue was sticking to the wood, not coming off cleanly. Any suggestions for what to clean it with? The traction tape is from 3M. |

I'd recommend turpentine or paint thinner, depending on what you plan to do with the wood next. Although either of those would be okay for oil based paints. For latex, I'd stick with the paint thinner. Lots of ventilation highly recommended.

Scrolling down I see Oxi beat me to the punch. The only thing I'd add is if the solvents really aren't doing it for you there's always the kill-it-with-fire route. A heat gun is the nuclear option but should get the job done if the others won't. Some of those adhesives have impressive staying power, especially when they've been down a long time. |
