Wasn't that the heads who had to find each other?

That was pretty hilarious actually, going back and looking at all the head clues Bladescape was giving D1, "don't lose your head" and all that. And the inadvertent non-clues given by a couple of other players.

It only came down to a coin flip because both of you voted off wagon lol

This. But hey, it’s a game, it was fun.

I do wonder about low posters, though, how much is it avoiding the spotlight vs busy life, and how much fun can it be playing catch-up all the time. I stopped playing for several years and I couldn’t find the hour-a-day or so I needed to be able to enjoy them game and stay on top on what was going on. I can appreciate that D1 was tough for a lot of players, 1400 posts is crazy, but some Days it was just so quiet.

Or, you know, we had town that didn't want to vote for more than one person.

I'm not sure what more I could have done for my case on Dizzy.

I mean, it came down to a coin flip. Literally.

I probably would have pressed on my assertion that Story did inadvertenly clear the other player as town, given that he informed us about how D6 EOD went down.

That, we had that one game in recent memory, like, what, 2-3 games ago, where all the scum Piled on me at the start of the day, and our lurkers came back in to vote them..... and that because they had all voted for me, in rapid fire succession, Scum decided to give it up......

That, I think that would have had to have happen here.

Not sure exactly how I feel, that a coin flip ended this game.
Legit, like, I'm not trying to be smart or glib here. ..... I think we were all too emotionally involved.

Part of my problem is that I am not always on, so I try to post when I am on….

But towards the later days, the game just became toxic for me, to the point where I just wanted it over. Scum did a great job in this game… the sad part is that we had them…

LightFoot .... You knew you were setting this up, right? I mean, were you going to go after the punchline here, yourself?

It was just too easy not to knock that one out of the park.

On a serious note, Should I have been concerned if that was a tell or not?

WIM ?

I swear, I mean, I've been in games [[Actually playing them, and playing them well, notwithstanding]] for years, since 2009, and this game has had more terminology in it, more players using those terms, ..... that I feel like this might as well have been my first game. Playing from 09, sure, but I think the number of games total that I have played, compared to the average number that the average player in this game has played, .... I have to come in under.
Angleshoot = Utilising out of game information. Say when they're online, other things they've posted in other forums, etc.

WIM = Wants it More. Drive to play. Pizza, for example, has the gauntlet of unending WIM. As long as he's not like, completely busy irl, then he will outpost you AND your dog at once. Can be summarized as energy for the game?

Ok.

So, that one post of mine where I was all like "Prof just rocketed up my Town Read list" or whatever.

I based that on his posted reactions to the PMs he got from Story.

Like there was another question that was, or approached the level of the typo that my information had. Some situation where, I knew that because that happened, he had to be town.

Or is that like, on the line of Angleshooting?

Because, like, afterwards .... i had a sneaking suspision that you couldn't not know that you did that. Because I was all like "wait, why 'hot air' wouldn't all Air Wor.... and for that matter why would he even say ..... oh ok, well I guess that's what he wanted..."

So. There are times like that, when I really, really want to say something, or you know, use the passive voice, or the "negative" voice, that is drenched in implication, in context, .... or assume the voice of someone else / sarcasm....

How does one successfully show the "Shift" in tense / voice / frame .... you know.... that I am not technically speaking as "myself" ..... or is that best served ... not at all, in Mafia?

Town, I don't even blame you. Its hard not to hit a townie when you vote more than once.

Any wrong vote loses, and you can only yeet once per day anyway.

Don't make multiple votes in LYLO it ensures town loses a lot.

No offense if you like multivoting, but man.

Never in my games! Holy sheeit its badly anti town.
Multivote is dangerous, and it goes both ways. Each townie should place a number of votes equal to the ratio of town to scum. So, at the beginning of the game if it's 15 town to 5 scum, each townie should be making 3 votes. When you get down to 6 town to 5 scum, each townie should be making 1 vote.

I have a couple of questions.

(1) the talking bomb, I love it, but how would it work? Would the moderator insert the countdown warnings? I mean how else could it work, and also, could Storyteller0910 create even more work for himself? (In my search for a good fake claim I came across some wild stuff, but not a Talking Bomb. I think the wildest might have been "flying pumpkin that shoots laser beams out its ass.")

(2) I thought Visorslash was the Florence Nightingale alt. It's possible I will never know. Visor looked like he was having some fun with that, at least.

(3) guiri came in and basically outed the entire scum team using vote records! Would that have worked if we hadn't had multivote? Better? Worse?

From an Unfriendly perspective I thought the multivote option was ++ for town because if you were suspicious of a few players you could vote for them all. Thereby making more than one player go into defensive mode. I don't understand how it's anti-town. Maybe you need to know math to get that.

Okay, more than a couple of questions.

It absolutely figures, that someone would still doubt my claim, even after the game is over, and the mod even confirms possible information about my role, that I never had.

When not to vote for more than one player:

1. When town is at "vote off scum or lose immediately". You might use multi-vote to help make a decision, but at the end of that Day, every town needs to be on the same scum or town loses.

2. When there's only one scum left. Never vote for more players than there are remaining scum, because doing so guarantees you're voting for town.

3. When you don't have more than one suspect you want to execute. Townies should never end the Day with a vote on player they don't think is scum.

When to vote for more than one player:

1. When you have more than one player you think is scum, without violating any of the "do-not" guidelines.

And that's it. It might not seem like much, but townies multi-voting in the early game greatly multiplies their numerical advantage. The real leverage comes from the number of votes. Do you, as a townie, give yourself better odds of voting at least one scum when you're making 1 vote or when you're making 3 votes?

Math!

Let's say there's 15 town and 5 scum.
Each scum votes for 3 random townies. That gives each town on average 3*5/15 = 1 vote.
Each town votes for 3 players, one of which is scum and the rest could be anyone.
That gives each scum 1*15/5 = 3 votes on average, and each other player 2*15/18 = 1.67 votes on average. (The 18 because not voting for self or other vote.)

That puts each town with 2.67 votes on average and each scum with 4.67 votes on average. Of course, averages don't capture what actually happens, but it indicates the bias against scum.

I don't think confusion about how a weird role would work is "doubting" your claim.

But that does confuse the issue, saying that it was your claim when it wasn't.

Okay, that made me laugh, actually.

Meeko, I am not now doubting your claim. I am merely asking how the Talking Bomb would work, in a game thread.

PS: It's too late to give up, the game is over!

And still confuses me. If you had claimed the role to begin with, I may have been alright. But then you claimed that role instead of that role and I'm lost.
