Chicago Mafia Night 2: Let’s Misbehave
Chicago Mafia Night 2: Let’s Misbehave
The players staggered around throughout the day, casting aspersions and casting votes, and finally decided LightFoot looked the guiltiest and would do the dance. Not a tap dance, or, well, kind of a tap dance, the kind you do at the end of a rope. No need to put this in a spoiler; LightFoot was Mary Sunshine, Town Snoop, who could--well, you guys saw what she could do. As an aspiring reporter she was great at getting people to tell her things when they didn’t realize they were talking to a reporter, but her editor was a little concerned about her ability to meet deadlines. Oh dear Gussie, tsk tsk tsk. You’ve killed an innocent person! But don’t feel bad, it happens, and anyway this is the Anything Goes decade. Drown your sorrows at some little hall where there’s a nightly brawl. If you just sit back and accept your fate, dear, it’ll be the greatest news of 1928, dear. Warning: Christopher Tappin’. Also, Christopher Strippin’. ![]() ![]() It is now Night 2. If you have a night action, send it in. You have 24 hours, more or less. Day 3 will begin Friday, February 18 at 8pm Chicago time. Possibly a bit later if I have another day like today. |

I would very much like to know this too. 😂

A scoops a lousy power if it takes down the subject of the article...
Oh. I guess lots of investigative journalism aims to do just that. I'm glad it didn't in this case. |

Well, it seemed like I was but my card was posted with LightFoot’s card (not a complaint Vanta, you have all my sympathy, this is the worst game day I’ve ever seen to have to mod from jury duty!) so it also possibly looked like I died. The other ## powers so far have been kills.

What was up with the pile-on on LightFoot?

But LightFoot was yeeted, right? She didn't die as a result of using her power? Or did she?[/COLOR][/B]

I am so groggy I got distracted and completely forgot there was an EoD in progress! I might have switched to Jan but it wouldn't have mattered because the Dead have the tiebreak.

I thought it was pretty clear that LightFoot used a public day investigation of AA, and the punishment for using it was she was outed too. I actually think the public action and results is a kind of interesting twist that I’m enjoying!

I can explain me. I personally was willing to pull off of Jan, her play today was more Town Jan, Then she shot at Squink, which was in my probable scum pile, and that sealed it. I thought there was only an hour of day left when Inpullled off, I figured I’d let the result hit and see what happened but as a placeholder LightFoot was a good target of who was in the running. I liked her better than Pleo for scum. Obviously the results made me swing back to Jan where I started.

And I also wasn’t feeling a prof yeet, and my gut was confirmed with AA’s reveal. I really think he’s Town right now.

And that. dear readers, is exactly why I didn't shoot anyone on D1. I am so sorry.

It really wasn't a loss except from the numbers perspective, so I'm okay with it if you're town. And if LightFoot was dying anyway from the use of her power, I guess, meh. I'm still kind of confused about the whole thing. Yeah this paragraph doesn't make a lot of sense, but Squink was kind of an acceptable death I guess. Maybe. I need to chew on it some more.

I think there are reasons to be suspicious of Silverjan, but nobody's opinion on her should really change based on the Squink flip. If she's town, the odds were against her guessing right. And there definitely seemed to be a broad consensus that Squink was an appropriate Vig target.
A Town lurker getting Vigged is better than them being yeeted, because a lurker yeet is easy to justify voting for or against and gives Town relatively little information. |

But, wow. A one time ability to simultaneously confirm yourself and someone else, plus apparently some ability to spy on other investigative powers? I...really wish LightFoot had done that earlier. In other news, Angel being confirmed Town is ![]() |

I swear. Why does it take nearly 8 hours to set up a Windows 10 notebook with the OS already installed.

Don't worry about it, Vanta. I don't think it's near game-breaking. But your intent does make things more clear now. Arch being an IC throws some spice into the game.

One bit of setup information- I asked the mod a day or two ago if roles were randomized or if they were assigned to be appropriate to their alignments.
He was unwilling to answer because this is a closed game but said that he thought that specific question would become clearer over time. Based on what he said last night (that my alignment reveal was a mistake) I think LightFoot was actually a role cop, not a regular cop. To me a role cop has more utility to scum (or a third party team if there actually is one beyond Tinker) than Town. So I think the roles were completely randomized. |

That might explain the Miller vs Scum anomaly in Mahaloth’s claimed PM
|
#27
|
||||
|

Yes. I'm tending to believe Mahaloth is at worst 3P-- he read me correctly, I actually really thought Dante was scum and made a good case on him and then got nervous. Scum motivation wouldn't have cleared me for that.

Is this an accurate list of known information?
Archangel -- confirmed town tracker, tracked Prof to LF Night One Bashorian Clement -- claims to be a mason and to know there is some as yet unclaimed vig Biotop -- no claim Colby11 -- confirmed day vig, may or may not have more shots Dizzymrslizzy -- no claim Eristic Widgeon -- no claim guiri-- no claim Mahaloth -- claimed Miller with some unspecified power Mordenkainen -- no claim Pleonast -- claimed immune to yeet, possibly other power(s) Prof. Pepperwinkle -- claimed investigator, blocked Night 1 by unknown party raventhief -- no claim Silverjan -- confirmed dayvig, may or may not have shots left TexCat -- no claim THE DEAD Tinker -- 3P Bookie, wincon and details of powers unknown but confirmed to not have been a killing power. Dante G -- vanilla scum Swammerdami -- vanilla town Metallic Squink -- vanilla town LightFoot -- town investigator; apparently had the ability to spy on other investigator's results in addition to one-time "scoop" |

You are dead, and I'm afraid it's my fault (unless Jan is scum, in which case it's her fault). I'm sorry!

I only investigate as scum if I use my power, which I am doing Nightly(It's a night only power).
If I die, though, I do reveal in the game correctly, not as scum. |

I just noticed you said you revealed "correctly, not as scum"- you didn't say you reveal correctly as town.
