So I see a lot of videos from Ukraine with Russian rockets that have hit but not detonated. Today I saw a video of a guy using a tractor to yank one out of the ground. What's the scoop on why they aren't going boom?

I saw a picture of what looked like a rocket that crashed in someone's kitchen a couple of weeks ago. My nephew who's in the Marines said it was just the booster. He says the warhead separates and continues while the booster crashes after its fuel is spent. Perhaps that's the case here. Or maybe not.

The short answer on this one, is that to me, it looks like the warhead had seperated from the propulsion section, at some point, either in flight or who knows. If it was in flight, and that was just a spent first-stage booster, then all's fine and dandy. If the warhead is still buried in that hole, then:

a) them's some serious brass balls on that boom-shooter driver, or
b) EOD already said the propulsion's seperated from the warhead, so get to pullin' crap outta the way so we (EOD) can go to work, or
c) EOD's already RSP'd the warhead so it's safe/stable enough to move.

If it were me, I'd fish 5 lbs of C-4 down that hole and BIP it (blow it in place). Far safer and quicker, and then I can move on to more pressing missions.

It could be that this is the case here. My ordnance guides are at the office, and unfortunately, I don't surf the Geeb at work _{sorry kids}. I don't know what that rocket is/is for/is attached to. Can't ID the motor, so I can't ID the warhead.

In other news, didja guys see the cops safely directing civilian traffic over the anti-tank mines (drivers straddled the mines with their wheels)?!? I'll give ya my spiel on that tomorrow.

I think Rooskies are lazy, and laid them purely for psychological reasons, instead of trying to kill people.

Those guys are nuts. I've seen video of men sliding a bunch of mines to the side of the road with their feet. And one of a guy carrying a mine off the road, a cigarette dangling from his mouth. "Russian mine, go fuck yourself." Apparently they were all anti-tank mines but I'd be worried that it was a trap and a mine could be set with a lighter trigger. Of course, if something went wrong that way, there wouldn't be a video.
