Now in isolation, I would not read much into this first post of Mahaloth's (as some others seem to be doing.) I know/knew a lot of people and communities who just always claimed VT in their OP, even though it's pointless and arguably suboptimal. That's just some people's style.

However, it's the next post in conjunction with it that gives me pause. I'm not experienced with this forum in particular, but normally, wouldn't the host have made clear if such a consequential mechanic exists in the rules thread? If you're happy to be a VT in the dark, why would you be concerned about gaining advantages through minigames?

I might just be separating my own peculiar molehill from the pack and calling it Mount Everest, but still, this combo reads a tad bit wolfy.

Call this mutually-assured pocketing if you must, but Meeko can also be town.

With this post, they detect the conversation is going in a direction that's likely to be unproductive and irrelevant to the actual game, and tries to steer it away from that dead end, despite having no alternatives to offer.

I think if you're a wolf, and especially if it's this early in Day 1, you hang back and don't call attention to this issue, b/c if town wastes their time and energy going down this rabbit hole rather than trying to solve more people on actual in-game stuff, that's a net advantage and a strong start for wuffs.

Instead, Meeko seems to be interested in a strong start for town.

When our remaining two (Lightfoot and Clement) arrive and get caught up themselves, I have a small request to make of everyone.

Could you please share with the class just one read, town or scum (no nulls), with whatever reasoning you can scrounge up.

The quality or strength of this read doesn't matter. It could be a brain read, a gut read, or even a wild guess. Literally. Don't give a single shit about how flimsy, specious or stupid your argument looks.

Just plunk down your bets. Say how you feel about a certain player, and explain why. If you were here and already explained it, quote or link the post you explained it in. If someone else explained it and you're just sheeping their suspicion/vote, point to that post and say why you find it convincing. Again, no wrong answers for that.

Just get something out there, everybody. Once everyone has that, everyone has a position on something that other players can agree or disagree with. And once we agree or disagree with other players on something, we can investigate those disagreements for further evidence on players' alignments. And with that, we can progress past the "noise" stage of D1 into something at least marginally productive.

I'll start: Meeko is town, for reasons I went into in my post immediately above.

Straight up, I'm already leery that Kaiverian and I probably won't be able to divorce our shared fandoms as we will need to in order to play this game as best as we would need to. I say this, knowing full well that Kaiverian has stuck his neck further out for me, than I them.

And my entire thing was, I wanted to point this out to Maha, and also point out that game was closed set-up .... but then I got lost in the nuance of Closed V Open, and shelved it, indefinitely. As much as I want poker, or other "" casino "" in this game, I think we long passed by when that had to be introduced, to be viable. I thought this long before the Mod interjected that there is no "Casino" in the game. Which I guess was the last gasp of hope for a "Game Night" during the Night phases.

But yeah, I didn't want to bring this up, because I was paranoid that it would put focus on me over things and aspects of this game that I know nothing about, .... not unlike the near trap I set, baited, and then fell victim for myself, in Margaritaville.

I think Mahaloth is slowly but surely evolving to a "I claim in my first post" position here [And to be clear, has been doing so, in recent games].

FWIW, I think Pleonast is, at the same time, and for a profound want of words, is devolving / conceding that position to Maha. We are going to get rid of someone doing it, but, at least we make the deck chairs look nice.

I guess that does kinda move me in a certain way, overall.



Finally, There is an assumption that Vanta's vote moves them into your Town column.

Nope. I won't do that.

My play style, if you can call it that, is decidedly "Meeko". We'll push back Peeker and the other double vowel people for ToNight's posts, but ... I'm not sure what word to use here, .... I play a certain way. And, that way just "is". I'm not sure how well I will be able to complete my "class" assignments on time. You might as well ask Pinkie Pie to Babysit.*


Nothing against you personally, and damn, we do need to distance ourselves from each other, but, I need to address, that if I don't match up, to the letter, all of your assinments, it's a fault within myself, and not against you.

That said, I do have a vote on Mahaloth already. ... That was uninformed by this post, or "assignment". Where and when I can do as you ask, cool, but, I'm not inclined to go far out of my way to balance a ball on my nose.

You might get a slim majority of others to complete their assignments, but, it needs to be said in the same breath, that, we will probably have at least one sub, and one or two more abandon the game. .... Not going personal against anyone player, but it is an established pattern that, and given how Kaiverian is approaching this game already ((Masterful, thought out, "your expereince is showing" prose**)) I think we owe this to them.

There is a metric ton more I want to say here, but I can't even offer up my second best conclusion, as it ultimately ties into it. I just hope I can bring it up later. It will be fun.

* There was an Episode of My Little Pony where the Token ADHD pony attempts to babysit. It did not end well. I don't think I need to explain further, or why "Babycakes" remains my favorite Pony episode of all time.

Why point out Gnarly and Colby here? Don't we all have this information, from the same time that it was posted?

I was the first to bring up the possibility of third parties in the game, Gnarly jumped on that, voted me, saying there was no mention of third parties in the color or rules. Colby just added that being a closed setup did not exclude the possibility of third parties. Neither of them seemed to notice the publicly available vanilla town PM which referred to anti-town forces (plural) which I quoted when surmising on the game setup. They could have skimmed their role PM, they may not have noticed the wincon or the vanilla role PM quoted, or their wincon could be different. That’s all I have right now.

FWIW, I think Pleonast is, at the same time, and for a profound want of words, is devolving / conceding that position to Maha. We are going to get rid of someone doing it, but, at least we make the deck chairs look nice.

Yes. The vote is for the claim. I wasn't thinking in such direct terms, however.

This was not helped by my Deck chairs / Titanic metaphor. That should be amended to state that I think we will always have someone who will claim as soon as possible. Not necessarily the same person in each game.

For a early Day 1 vote, I'm fine with this.

I think Kaiverian and I both are acutely aware that we came into the game .... With a high propensity to snuggle. Frankly, outside of Meeko, do any of you know another Brony? Another Furry?

The game would snuggle us faster and more unforgivingly than we would to each other.

Speaking for myself, I'm trying to guard against it. Keeping it in my mind and in my posts is one method I have to not do so.

I'm not sure how much snuggling can occur on D1, but nonetheless we have attention on us as if it werethe Endgame already.

Scum would not be half as vocal here. Period.
