Masterchef Day 1- And Begin!!
As the chefs entered the Masterchef Kitchen, they see Colby, as well as Gordon Ramsay and Graham Elliot. Colby introduced everyone, “Greetings chefs! As you may know, I have done Hell’s Kitchen several times, but this is the first time that we have set foot in the Masterchef Kitchen… don’t F8ck it up!! Now, please go to your stations.”
Everyone sees a large mystery box, made out of cedar. All of the chefs open it to reveal every kind of tomatoes that you can think of, from green tomatoes, heirloom, cherry, beefsteak, and more. “Tomatoes are a blank canvas. You can do anything with a tomato… so let’s see your best dishes with it”. All roles have been sent out. If you have not gotten it, or need any clarification, please PM me. Day ends Tuesday the 27th at 7pm CST. |

I have a tomato based pasta sauce but that would be redundant at this time.
There is a chill in the air here and my first thought was grilled cheese [cheddar] and tomato sandwiches with home made tomato soup. the tomato pureed from the garden is heated with milk and a healthy amount of cream cheese . we have beefsteak//cross tomatoes ( yes my tomato spelling is fluid) Yes I grill the sandwich with the slices of tomato between the cheese slices Yum |

Here I am, trying to contort myself into the Mendie sock, But uh, yeah, I don't need to, or more importantly, should contort here. A Day 1, Post 1 [Essentially] vote should get called out each and every time it occurs.

Yes but it is the first person to submit the winning item/dish/technique etc that will win the competition. It is not revealed until the end of the round

I’m gonna grab about three of these big heirloom tomatoes and peel ‘em, seed ‘em, and chop ‘em. Then let those bad boys rest while I chop up the rest of the stuff—about half a small white onion, all of a shallot, and the white end of a leek. Melt two tablespoons of butter in a skillet and add the onion, shallot, and leek, cook until transparent. Then add 1 tablespoon of cognac to the skillet and about ¼ cup of Madeira wine. Light it (preferably with a fireplace match). When the flames die out, put it back over medium heat, cook until reduced by half, then pour in your tomatoes, along with about a of chicken stock and some chopped fresh basil leaves. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, puree in a food processor or blender, strain. Whisk in one more tablespoon of butter and one more tablespoon of Madeira. Excellent over gnocchi, maybe with a pinch of grated parmesan and some freshly ground black pepper.

I'm going to have a delicious Caesar salad. Three different types of lettuce, croutons, cherry tomatoes beefsteak tomatoes. egg whites, anchovies, two types of cheese, lemon juice, fresh garlic cloves, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and a bit of mustard. Never mind the quantities — use your imagination. I usually add some avocado but Mendie Taoma used up all the avocado in my pantry and avocado is very hard to find here.
![]() For variety, I'll divide the tomatoes into nine small groups, respectively slicing, dicing, frying, boiling, broiling, barbecuing, squeezing, decorating, and slathering (in Kahlua) the separate groups. Enjoy. If still hungry I'll make a California Burger. |

Can it be any old recipe off the internet or should it be something I have made, or could make myself?
Caprese salad: beefsteak tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, dried oregano, extra-virgin olive oil, salt, optionally pepper. Slice and season the tomatoes with salt, slice and dry off excess water from the mozzarella, place tomatoes and cheese in alternating sequence on a plate, decorate with basil leaves, sprinkle some oregano, dribble some olive oil, serve immediately. |

Is Roma a variety of tomato or a brand of tomato sauce? If the chef gives you a box of tomatoes you just turn around a use a pre-cooked sauce?

I probably should have mentioned that technique in the interests of being thorough. |

Unfortunately, a Town PM will often delete this wisdom from your brain entirely and make you desperately dig in barren hills trying to fill the void of information. I think I can call this my first legit scum lean. Random gonzo vote if you're gonna random gonzo vote (and I haven't the level of experience to know if that's "normal" for BC quite yet) but uh, why not stick by it? There's nothing much to lose by doing so, there's no such thing as "pressure" yet, and Simon didn't even post in between the vote and unvote so there's no indication of whether the vote was misapplied. Just doesn't seem like there's a good reason for this, other than IoT having one shooketh, perhaps. Quote:

Oooh Kaiv is going to be fun to play with. Me likely already!!!
Okay so I have an amazing Tomato Pie recipe for you today! Ingredients 1 piece perfect pie crust, or 1 refrigerated pie crust (from a 14-oz box) All-purpose flour, for dusting 2 3/4 lb. medium Roma tomatoes 1 tsp. kosher salt 1/2 c. mayonnaise 1 large egg, plus 1 egg yolk 2 tsp. hot sauce (optional) 8 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 c. crumbled blue cheese 3 scallions, chopped 2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley 2 tbsp. chopped fresh dill 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper 1 1/2 tbsp. plain yellow cornmeal Fresh herbs (such as dill, parsley or chives), for garnish Directions Roll 1 ball of pie dough into a 13-inch circle on a lightly floured surface. Transfer the crust to a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan. Trim the edges so the crust hangs over the pie pan by 1/2-inch. Tuck the edges of the crust under to be even with edge of the pie pan and press all around with the tines of a fork. Place the crust in the refrigerator for 1 hour (or in the freezer for 30 minutes). Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes crosswise into ¼-inch thick slices. Using your fingers, push out as many of the watery tomato seeds as you can. Lay the slices flat on a paper towel-lined sheet tray and sprinkle all over with the kosher salt. Let drain for 30 minutes, then pat very dry. While the tomatoes are draining, in a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, egg, egg yolk and hot sauce (if using). Stir in the cheddar cheese, blue cheese, scallions, parsley, dill and black pepper. Preheat the oven to 425˚. Sprinkle the cornmeal over the bottom of the crust. Pat the tomato slices dry, once again, then place 1/3 of the tomatoes in the bottom of the pie crust, overlapping them slightly to fit. Top with ½ of the mayonnaise mixture. Repeat with another layer of tomatoes and another layer of mayo mixture. Place the remaining tomatoes on top, pressing the last layer gently into the mayo mixture. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the pie from the oven and wrap just the edges of the crust with foil. Reduce the oven temperature to 375˚ and bake until the mayo mixture is puffed and golden brown and the center is no longer wobbly, 30 minutes more. Let cool for 1½ hours. Top with additional herbs, if desired, then slice and serve. Thank you Pioneer woman for that one ( you know Ree is an old friend of mine from a message board in the 90s lol)

Can the account I already have, that does indeed have the feminine name I want, and actually does have my fursona comission of Mendie on it , as well, be pressed into use for this purpose? after the horrible showing in Mendie's first showing, a Sock centric game to be gin with.... What game was it, it was the only other game Kai was a player in. Just, I think we were both beside ourselves to see another "Fur". And I guess, LGBT+ has an increased chance to play into that.
And, we kinda got carried away with that. I think, it just speaks to the fact, that, at least we are more open with how neurodivergent we are, and we are probably divergent in similar ways. |
