Basic Rules:

• Voting in this game may work differently than what you are used to. Please read the voting information carefully.
• The moderator will not publicly reveal a players role or alignment until the end of the game. To clarify, that means no reveal on execution or kill.
• Players may ask questions to the moderator. The answer however may be: No Comment.
• There are roles that require the moderator to provide incorrect information to specific players. This is done algorithmically and not at the discretion of the moderator. In other words: the mod is not a bastard; deceptions exist, but they are preplanned.
• Days/Nights will end 8pm Eastern Time.
• The maximum length for each day will be posted at the start of each day.
• Nights last 24 hours. All night actions must be submitted prior to 7:59 pm. Nights will not be extended due to weekends. Actions for future nights may be submitted in advance.
• No communication about this game in any manner that has not been previously mod-sanctioned. (See special ability below)
• The moderator will not discuss possibilities for modkills or substitution with any player in the game, with the sole exception that if you would like to be subbed out, you must PM the moderator before Night 2.
• You may edit your posts.
• You may post any communication from the moderator.
• During the course of the game a players win condition will not change. (This game does not contain Recruitment.)
• The moderator reserves the right to modkill/substitute/penalty vote any player for rules infractions and/or nonparticipation. This will be done solely at the moderator's discretion.
• There are no special boards for any team during this game.
• Living and dead players may post strategy at any time.
• When you are dead, you are NOT out of the game. Dead players can strategize, and dead players can vote (see voting rules below).
• Please participate! Participation will not be enforced by moderator, but for the game to be fun, it will require participation from all players.
• Keep it civil. This is just a game. Don't make it personal.

Voting Rules:

• A player must be nominated in order to be voted for. In order to nominate a player should in bold blue and on it's own line nominate: <player name>
• A player may not be nominated during the first 24 hours of a Day.
• Once a player is nominated, no other player may be nominated until that nomination is resolved.
• Once a player is nominated, each player (who has votes remaining) may vote: <player name> or vote: absolve to respectively execute or absolve that player
• Only living players may nominate another player.
• If a majority (>50%) of available votes have been cast to execute a player the nomination will resolve immediately.
• If a majority (>50%) of available votes have been cast to absolve a player the nomination will resolve immediately.
• If 24 hrs have passed without a majority decision on the nomination, the player will be absolved.
• If the group has resolved to execute the nominated player the day will end immediately (it will be announced as soon as the moderator returns).
• Only living players may be nominated.
• A player may be nominated only once per Day.
• A player may not nominate themselves.
• Living players may vote in any nomination, unless their power prevents them.
• Dead players may vote one time (for the remainder of the game) after they have died.
• The number of available votes for a given nomination is: Number of living players + number of unspent dead votes.

Win conditions:

• Town team wins the game if the scum team loses the game.
• Town team wins the game if there is a politician, and the politician wins.
• Town team loses if they execute the White Rose.
• Scum team wins if all town players are dead.
• Scum team loses the game if all scum players are dead and any town players are alive.
• The game ends when only players of a single faction are alive.

Special Ability available to all living players:
2 times per game you may PM the moderator with a message you'd like passed to another player.
The moderator will note in the public thread that communication has taken place and who it involved but not the content of that communication.
The moderator will forward your message on your behalf to the intended person.
For example if Fraggle wants to send a message to Muppet, the moderator will post to the game thread: "Fraggle and Muppet seem to be having a private conference."
The order that the names appear in the description will be randomized to conceal the direction of the communication.

Player Roles:
(there are no roles in this game that are not listed below)

Town
Gossip - At the start of Day 1 you will be given the names of 3 players and a town role (one of: Servant, Patsy, White Rose, Child, Miller). One of these 3 players has this role (Or you will be told that none of these roles is in the game).
Innkeeper - At the start of Day 1 you will be given the names of 3 players and a town role (one of: Any town role not available to Gossip). One of these 3 players has this role.
Private Eye - At the start of Day 1 you will be given the names of 3 players and a scum role. One of these 3 players has this role.
Janitor - At the start of Day 1 you will be told how many Scum roles are in the game.
Therapist - While alive, once per night you will be told the number of players adjacent to you on the player roster have scum roles.
Seer - While alive, once per night you may pick 2 players, you will be told if either of them is the Cult Leader.
Mortician - While alive, at night you will learn the role of the player who has been executed that day.
Priest - While alive, once per night you may select a living player other than yourself, that player cannot be killed by the Cult Leader.
Harbinger - If you die during the night, you will learn the role of one player of your choice.
Veteran - You cannot be killed by the Cult Leader at night.
Vigilante - While you are alive, one time per game, during the day, you may publicly announce you are killing a player. If that player is the cult leader, they will be executed immediately.
Politician - While you are alive, if the game is reduced to 3 or less living players and no one is executed, you win.
Servant - While alive, each night you pick a player, during the following day you may only vote after that player votes. Once you are not alive, you no longer have this restriction. If you don't pick a player, you cannot vote.
Patsy - You do not know you are the patsy. You will be told by the moderator that you are a different townsfolk. Any actions you take will fail, and any information you recieve may be incorrect.
White Rose - If you are executed, the town loses.
Child - The first time you are nominated, if the player who nominated you is a townsfolk they will be executed immediately.
Miller - You appear to be scum or The Cult Leader to the Private Eye, Therapist, Seer and Harbinger.

Scum
The Cult Leader - Each night after Day 1 you may select someone to kill.
The Publicist - Each night (including Night 0) you pick someone to decieve, they will remain decieved for tonight and tomorrow night. They will not know they have been decieved. While they are decieved any information they recieve from the moderator may be false.
The Acolyte - If there are 5 or more players left in the game, and you are alive, and the Cult Leader is dead, you become the cult leader.
The Financier - There is one additional cult member in this game who is not you and is not the Cult Leader.
The Spy - While you are alive, you will get a list of all players and their roles.

This has been adapted from another live play game.
(i will give proper credit at the end of the game, just so there isn't any accidental extra information i'm keeping mum right now).
Also, I have not played a game on this Forum since 2015, so I am not sure how unconventional some of the aspects of this game are, but I hope it will be fun for all involved.

The variation is very strong here. Majority required to vote off. No reveals. Scum don't know each other and can't chat. I'm not sure how winning can be anything more than simple luck.

Potential exploit: players who can post the soonest will have an advantage.

Everything else depends on how many players get each role. For example, town is almost certainly doomed if they are all White Roses. I assume the designer will do better than that, and there's lots of crazy ways to make it fair.

At one time, I had an idea for a Fraggle Rock Mafia game.

Uncle Traveling Matt was going to be able to send a postcard tweet to Gobo, each day. Granted, this works better with the 140 character limit, but whatever.

Then I got into weeds, over if the Gorgs should have a post restriction, and what then, does that make Marjory, the trash heap, .... and Does Wembley get to be able to vote? Does Boober become a focus and have everything target him, regardless? etc.


To say nothing of, I probably should never host another game ever. Some will tell you I attempted to host a game once. I assure you, they are wrong.

The number and composition of the roles are dependent upon the number of players. As long as we get 10 people that is enough to play, but I have balancing up to 15.

The amount or existence any given role is secret. But you can safely assume that all roles are eligible to be "in play".

Not my voting record, or play, per se, but that I reverted back to the exact things I did not want to do, that I did not want to be.

Yes, most of it was joking, but the point remains that Mendie was a very "bad raccoon" in that game. At least she would say so. Just more things to be conflicted about.

Yes. This game does look interesting. Yes, on the face of it, it is the most challenging game I have ever been invited to play in. YES, this is the thing that Meeko still thinks about, and drools over, frankly, when he hears Mafia. The "" Magic The Gathering "" level and style of interaction, over Clue and Stratego. [And I mean, both of those are great games too, I own both, and will admit to owning a few copies of Clue.]

But with that "" interesting "" with that challenge, is going to come frustration. From all sides. Repeat experience, i.e. the last two games, even, has shown me that my conduct is an issue. I really want to be able to control that. And those past two games [Ok, if not All Night Chroma, the one before it, then] were a lot closer to the "standard" Mafia experience than not. I fear the "Drop" in this game where it hits me, and yes, I go ape shit.

I was aware of it, going into MasterChef. And what do I do? I drop "" Mendie "" off completely, throw in multiple F bombs, and put digs in on those that went after me. I don't want to be that type of player. I really, really don't. Mendie, among other things, was going to be my best attempt at self restraint.

[[Yes, I realize I ask too much of her, but understand, that I really did think, and see a credible way, where she could do all of this for me, and more. Again, that I was [and my still be] Trans, and that, in a chicken and egg type scenario, the fact that I have not embraced that I am Girl, ARE the reasons why I don't have self control, restraint, a potty mouth, get extremely moody, and down the line. Apparently, this would be informed by Gender Dysphoria, to play along side my garden variety Dysphoria.
