I do question the motivation behind keeping up the costume character's spiel and shtick after the awards have been given. There seems to be an expanse of space for scum to hide in.

Superficially, it looks like a joke/throwaway, but beneath that an early vote for any reason isn't pro-town due to the knowledge dynamic. Town just can't afford to accidentally vote a townie, but scum know's more or less who's who, so these early votes are "safe".

Or you could just be trying to stir up some conversation. Either way, here I am.

Then again, if that is the consensus position, I question what deliberately thumbing one's nose at it will do, other than needlessly divide our ranks. Remember, we have very limited time to root out the enemy in a 7 player game.

Just be warned: if you up and declare allegiance to some principle the very sign of a patriotic and loyal townie, the scumbags will be among the first to sign up. That's Being Scum 101.

So while, for example, I appreciate The Angel Satan's defense of me, they should not be let off the hook that all considered.

I don't quite think the Pizzatell abides in this instance because Skybreaker does clear up that he is referring to actual suspicions eventually.

No, what makes this suspicious to me is how padded it is and how it appears to idly both-sides the issue, drawing a line to both conclusions in advance of actually engaging with Annie. I don't think a townie (on D1 especially) is likely to do idle busywork like this, I think they're more likely to press their suspect and try to shake loose additional info.

I know that's a lot of characters to say "active lurking" but I want town to know what my thought process is.

Kenough's second vote seems even more scummy to me than the first one they're piggy-backing on ("Don't mind me, I'm just here for the lulz and dropping a vote for the same silly reason as someone else!"), and if I'm going full-on Conspiracy Theorist on it (and it looks like I am), I reckon Annie's vote has been a conversation starter, AND managed to flush out Kenough. The trouble with your suggestion is that if I join you in voting for Chip, and he turns out to be town, and you flip scum, I'd have been duped. I may be anyways, but that seems like a particularly embarrassing trap to walk into willingly.

I'm much more comfortable voting for you and seeing how that goes. I don't know if you're going to draw enough votes to get the ax toDay, but I'm content in the meantime to let my vote ride for now.

Can’t see anything specific in the rules, Elon’s not posted since the sign-ups, and doesn’t have enough posts to receive PMs, so I think we can rule out scum lurking, and not being so quiet is certainly not in character, so best guess is the player is unaware the game has started.
