Until Tripler comes back I'll say yes for him. My buddy has one and you can go through some ammo in serious hurry.

Hey Lady, ANY time you want to go shooting, Step-Dad will take you. Any reason to show off his toys and skills, he is ON! I will have to set the two of you up sometime. He would LOVE to "debate" politics with you. Altho I might recommend you don't talk much while handling the firearms. Just sayin...

It's actually really cool when you can go shooting with someone that you really disagree about politics with and not worry about either of you getting shot.

I think that is a pretty good definition of being civilized now that I think about it.

I may have to do that--he doesn't have a Baby Eagle .45 does he? Because I like the looks of those a whole lot but I should probably go shoot one a bunch before sinking dough on it.

I know I can trust Step-Dad to behave. However, Smarts has a shit ton of valid reasons to climb the clock tower at the moment and I think it is important to recognize that and avoid poking the bear or handing the bear large caliber weapons or whatevs...

One woman of my aquaintance had multiple boy friends and a husband refuse to let her handle a loaded fire arm under any circumstances.

I think this was a wise decision on their part, she had a hell of a temper.

Thanks, Chaco...people I've heard who have shot them say it's a real bitch. It bounces from the recoil, and it's practically impossible to hit something with it.

I caught a picture of these at the range.

That's the 1911A1, The Browning Hi-Power, and the new one, the PT-25 mouse gun.

If you can see it, I laid the three cartridges side by side at the edge of the towel.

Is anyone interested in a defunct double barreled percussion cap shotgun? I figured I'd ask before going through the trouble of taking photos.

Presently, the two most favorite handguns in my armory. The Smith I bought about two months ago, the Ruger I've had for over 25 years...actual length of time escapes me.

The revolver is a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine. 7½" barrel, Pachmyre grips. The other gun is a Smith & Wesson Sigma .40. It had so many of the Glock features, Glock made them stop manufacturing it for awhile to change some of them. Aesthetically, to me at least, the Blackhawk just looks like it wants to kill something.

Sweet Blackhawk, Harry. I've been lusting after one in 357. I'm not interested in the conversions, though.

These are not my guns, I asked someone (a shooting instructor/armorer/collector/friend). He's got a range in his backyard and brought this pile of guns out with him

We started with the 22 at the top right. After a few clips he decided I was doing fine and moved on to the 9mm on the left. That one felt great and if I were to run out and buy one, it would probably be that one. It's a S&W compact umm, something or other. I'd have to ask him again.
He also sent me home with this giant bag of bullets and told me to go practice

Also, before I started shooting with this guy I was talking about guns with another mutual friend. We were just sort of talking about them and I was telling him that I wanted to take some kind of shooting class to learn how to handle a pistol. He had, I don't even know how many guns within 15 feet of him, all hidden. The guy is a gun nut. Guns all over the place. He gave me this Glock 22...just cuz.

It's a .45 and the recoil is a bit much for me. It's also missing the extractor so I only used it once (when I realized it wasn't working).

Glad you posted in this thread Thunder Mug!

I had never heard of the Hi Point Carbine before, but it's looks like a lot of gun for the money. I will have to keep it in mind if I want to compete in pistol caliber carbine competitions. One question, are higher capacity mags available?

Nice arsenal, Thunder Mug (*giggle*, I know what a thunder mug is.)

I have a new piece.

I got tired of the PT-25 being so inconsistent, and it was jamming again today, so I blew away all the ammo I had for it, and went to trade it in for a Ruger 10/22. But I got to thinking, that leaves me without a car piece. I don't want to leave either of my other pistols in the car, having them stolen would be a tragedy. I need something that if I lose it, it's merely a pain in the ass.

I wound up with this.

It's a Kel-Tec P-32. .32 Auto, so I'm stepping up a bit, at least. That's my cell phone next to it to give some scale. It's tiny.

I read the reviews before buying it, so I know what to expect. I haven't shot it yet, maybe tomorrow, more likely next Friday.

Yeah, a .32 hardly bigger than a cell phone. Easier to conceal that a 1911, that's for sure.

Interesting on the Kel-Tec. I've been wanting a mouse gun for the "jam it in a pocket" style of carry. Let us know how it shoots.

Right now, no. Standard is 9 rounds, and is interchangeable with their .45 pistol. Carbines are available in .45, .40 and 9mm.

I like it. Not as uncomfortable as I feared, though it's not a 'shoot all day' sort of pistol. It's nice and slim, comfortable to wear. I put about fifty rounds through it today. I had two jams, and accuracy wise it's about the same or a little better than the Taurus PT-25 I traded it for. But it has no grips to come loose, that was becoming a major pain. The jams could be attributable to 'weak wristing', but it's also about the same as one of the reviewers I read experienced.

It's a 'back up' gun. Like I said, I don't want to carry anything substantial in the car, for fear of theft. As they say "A .32 in the pocket beats a 12 gauge at home in the closet."

The factory mags are supposed to hold 10 rounds, but I have trouble getting the last one in a lot of the time. There are aftermarket 15 round'ers available too.

OK, I'll play.

These really get you looked at at the range.

These two drove Martini Enfield crazy for a bit. The top one is a Mark III* SMLE manufactured during the Battle of Britain. The lower one is a #4 SMLE that is totally cherry. Never had a round put through it. I took it out of the wrapper myself.
