WTF? Everybody in this thread turned into "Someone"...
I'm befuddled...it looks like everyone who posted in this thread has been transformed into a user named "Someone". You can still see the actual ID of the last poster in the forum's thread list, but in the thread itself they're all "Someone". What's going on here? Is this another Stupid vB Trick like the [ me ] (or [ you ]...can't remember offhand) tag?

Yeah, as people have pointed out, I changed the default style of BYB. You can easily change it back to whatever you prefer using the Style pulldown menu at the bottom left, or within your UserCP.

The main idea behind the change is to give lurkers an incentive to log in. (BYB gets a lot of lurkers, as you might imagine.) The problem with a forum devoted to gossiping about other sites is that people who follow it may be put off by something one poster says, but not feel like taking the trouble to create an account just to tell them they're being a dick. This way, that barrier is removed up front and anyone interested in reading the gossip is now set up to jump in whenever the mood strikes them and throw their opinion into the mix. Less of a fishbowl, in other words.

If people hate it, we can always change it back to how it was.

There are some pretty important things to clear up here.

What the hell is BYB? Is it 'Bare your Butt' which is why Owen-ne-Doyle? thinks socks are a pain in the ass? Owen, you are wearing them rong. oooh, ok 'behind your back'. Owen, you are Still wearing your sox rong.
