Has your doctor bought any stock in Airborne lately?

On a serious note, that would make me uncomfortable too.

I see. This must be a television commercial. I do not have TV. Don't miss it, either, and you've just made my argument for me.

I learned about "HeadOn" from SNL skits and one of the parody movies (Not Another Teen Movie?). Yeah, it's mostly wax, and little of anything else. Not even camphor, menthol, or eucalyptus. Reportedly people who buy that also bought ShakeWeight.*

Regular ingestion of vitamin C had no effect on common cold incidence in the ordinary population. However, it had a modest but consistent effect in reducing the duration and severity of common cold symptoms.

btw, never heard of it before

Ken S., I found one you might like. FREEdHem

Like HeadOn, FREEdHem featured repetition in its ads, which said "Freedom from hemorrhoids, FREEdHem hemorrhoid cream" or "FREEdHem, the only one-application hemorrhoidal cream" three times.

Everybody knows you feed the crayons to the dog.

Ugh, I hope you feel better soon, hajario.
There's no substitute for hot tea with lemon. Or just any kind of hot tea. That and a nice hot bath and/or shower -- I've always found that the steam opens up my sinuses.

My cold got worse and turned into a suspected sinus infection so I went and saw an ENT. He confirmed that I did have a sinus infection and prescribed me some antibiotics. (I am doing much better.) I asked him for his opinion on Airborne. His immediate answer, "It doesn't work."

I explained how one of his colleagues had recommended it to me and he was disappointed. He did say that some of his colleagues will recommend placebo type cures but they should know better than to make such a recommendation to an engineer.

I think you should go back and see him at your most contagious and give him the cold, then ask him to let you know how Airborne worked out for him...

Why not ask the ENT for the names of his favorite internal medicinists?

He should know. He probably sees a lot of you engineer* types. The other people take their Airborne and don't have to see him.

I'm sure he's happy to see you and tell you anything you want to hear. You support his business, after all.
