That's it--I'm done

So during the SSBM2 game, I decided that I was going to quit once and for all. Things were just wearing down on me--the motivation to play for it's own sake was gone, replaced with simple inertia. Things that were funny were grating now, and the games seemed more and more like work to me. But people were saddened, and asked me to stay. And so I took a smallish break, preparing to step back in soonish afterish. It didn't work. I don't know why, but I just can't play anymore. So...I'm going to stop trying.

Pede, it sucks to see you go, as I consider you a player of very high caliber indeed.

Solfy, don't be too frustrated, I dunno if you are aware but there was was some player backlash against pede who moderated SSBM:2.

*pours out a 40oz*

Here's hoping you find the time to enjoy your youth instead of doing things that feel like work.

I sympathize with you. I played 2-3 games early on at GB (my introduction to Mafia) and found that it wears me out. So when I don't feel excited at the idea of a new game, I just stay back. I'm starting to feel interested again, so if you just hang out and let the annoyance drain out, you might find the fun returning.

I can understand the frustration - I even took a mafia hiatus myself. But not while I was in the middle of a game. It's not fair to the other players.

Agreed, if anyone feels themselves unable or unwilling to participate in a game they have committed to, they should seek a sub or let the mod know so the mod can start looking for a sub. If they are unwilling to tell the mod that they need to sub out, then they really should finish the game they're in.

Incidentally, I haven't received any "please sub me" requests, so I haven't been looking. If you need / want to sub out, please let me know so that I can try to rustle up a sub for you.

I know the frustration of modding a game where people are Not Happy With You. I completely understand the desire to back away for a while, perhaps permanently. I'm not saying you shouldn't - I'm just saying if you want to right now then please let me know.

You will be missed. I like the way you play. The gambits in Evil Dead and the way you tried to turn the carzy-wincon in Super Mario to work for town.
Maybe you could mod once more? The Terminator-game was really fun (it was my first mafia-game outside facebook and I played like crap, but boy - did I have FUN!!!!).

Poor Pede.... I understand the feeling though... I've been on an unspoken hiatus for awhile now.... Dipping my toes back in now. See how it goes.

I've been gone from this board for a while.

Anyways, I just went back through SSBM2, and I didn't see anyone complaining. The scum blamed themselves, and Town was quite happy.
