Oi! Pope!

So the pope is visiting Birmingham, I am singularly unimpressed by the whole business and the general level of fawining over some homophobic cross-dresser who carries a smoking handbag.

As I was on my way down the M6 past Brum this morning on my way to visit my doting parent, I was singing along to this little ditty. Apparently I'm going to get rather hot and somewhat scorched. Should I care?

Probably not. IMO (and I am not Catholic), the Pope seems not only dangerously out of touch with modern Western society, but deliberately so. I find his making statements and judgments regarding anyone's moral "laxity" exceedingly hypocritical and hostile at this point. But mostly I find them irrelevant to my life, for which I am grateful. It's weird to work in a Catholic hospital--this is the first time I ever have--there are some there who truly and earnestly believe he speaks Truth. <shrugs> Whatareyagonnado?

They should really set up a nice football chant for him...something like "Nazi! Nazi! Nazi! Oi! Oi! Oi!"
