Amazing! Stupendous! A product that actually works!

I have a white porcelain kitchen sink. For years, I have had two potmarks that just would not come off. I tried everything!

I tried Bon-Ami, I tried Ajax, I tried Softscrub, I tried Comet, I tried Mr. Eraser, I tried lemon and salt - all to no avail.

Last night I cleaned my sink after doing the dishes, as it was kind of dingy and gross. I reached for the cleanser, sprinkled it in, started scrubbing, and lo and behold! The pot marks were erasing! What the hell?

I looked down at the cleanser I was using. Bar Keeper's Friend! I forgot I had bought it, after reading about it somewhere.

It worked a miracle! I am happy.

You should have asked me. I have a white porcelain sink too and I would have told you that bar keepers friend will take out pot marks.

It's also effective on the glass top range.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but using ANY abrasive cleaner on a glass top range is a certified Bad Idea. That came straight from the owners manual on the glass range I used to put up with.

What, you prefer digging under exposed electrical elements to scrub every drip and splatter? I'd take a smooth surface that doesn't require fiddling and digging any day.

Of course I'd prefer a gas range, but if I have to go electric, I'll take glass top thanks.

We use Zud too. Definitely good stuff.

CLR is great for removing rust, calcium/lime, etc. Our water is hard, and I have to soak the shower head at least once a month. I just wish they made it in gel or paste form, so I could use it for the rust stains up under the rim of the toilet bowl.

I broke down and bought the Spin Mop from one of the TV shopping channels. Found one for $30 ($10 less than advertised) and it works great. I love it.

I'm glad you asked!
It's oxalic acid. Fabulous rust remover. If you can't find Bar Keepers Friend, try Zud - same active ingredient.

Zud? That sounds like a product Mr. Blandings needs a slogan for.

Do you have a smooth-top stove? Do you use the regular stuff or the Bar Keepers stuff made for smooth tops? Because the crap I have for our stove top doesn't do jack.

No, Mrs. Larsen is a very good cook so we have a five burner gas Dacor stove top. Low heat on it you can almost hold your finger in and high heat boils spaghetti lickety split. It's the tits. The top is stainless, the burner parts are aluminium and the burner grids are steel.

I wonder if it would get hard water stains off my ancient bathroom shower tiles. Nothing cleans those very well. Not even CLR.

I shall experiment!
