A Wizards True Name - Description and Rules

This thread is for the game description, roles and rules. If you have questions about the rules before the game starts please post them here. Once the game starts I will lock this thread.

Rules

List of rules:
  1. Votes and unvotes must be bold blue and bold red and on their own lines. This is to help me keep track.
  2. Players may ask questions to the moderator. The answer however may be: No Comment.
  3. Days/Nights will end 7pm Eastern Time.
  4. Please participate! Participation will not be enforced by moderator, but for the game to be fun, it will require participation from all players.
  5. Keep it civil. This is just a game. Don't make it personal.
  6. Days will start out at 3 weekday length. Days that intersect weekends will be stretched to the following weekday. (End of day will be specified at the beginning of each day)
  7. If at any time a player has received 50% of the living players worth of votes + 2, the day ends. The value required for this hammer will announced at the beginning of every day.
  8. Nights last 24 hours. All night actions must be submitted prior to 6:59 pm. Nights will not be extended due to weekends.
  9. Strategy discussion by living players is allowed at any time.
  10. No communication about this game in any manner that has not been previously mod-sanctioned.
  11. Ties will produce either all tied players being lynched OR no lynch, decided by random.org with a 90% + (number of tied players - 2)% chance of no lynch.
  12. The moderator will not discuss possibilities for modkills or substitution with any player in the game, with the sole exception that if you would like to be subbed out, you must PM the moderator before Night 2. Players who have died are ineligible for substitution.
  13. You may edit your posts.
  14. You may post any communication from the moderator.
  15. During the course of the game a players win condition will not change. (This game does not contain Recruitment.)
  16. The moderator reserves the right to modkill/substitute/penalty vote any player for rules infractions and/or nonparticipation. This will be done solely at the moderator's discretion.
  17. There is no communication allowed outside the main game thread, or the scum thread.
  18. Dead players are not allowed to make strategy posts.

Roles

Anatomy of a Role
In this game, the role will consist of 3 parts. The alignment, the first name, and the last name. All town players have the same ability an all scum players have the same ability. At the outset of the game, scum players will know their own last names only, and town players will know their first names only. Upon death the alignment and both names will be revealed.

Town Player Power Description:
1. During the night you may target a player for an alignment investigation. You should specify this to the moderator via PM before the end of the night. This investigation will only succeed if you have the same first and last name as the player being investigated, and you are the only person investigating that player that evening. Otherwise you will receive "No Results".

Scum Team Power Description:
1. Each night you may select one team member to kill another player.
2. Each night you may select one team member to investigate another player. This investigation will only succeed if you have the same first and last name as the player being investigated, and you are the only person investigating that player that evening. Otherwise you will receive "No Results".
3. One time this game, a member of the scum team may kill a living player during the Day.
a. The targetted player's vote for that day will not count, but they will not die until the end of the day.
b. To use this power, the player who will do the killing must publicly post in the game thread " {Name of Player} from the heart of hell I stab at thee, {First Name of Player to die} {Last name of player to die}!". Note that the first and last name must be correct or the kill will not go through.
For example: If I was a scum player who wished to kill giraffe whose first name is 'Ab' and last name is 'Retread', I would post "Giraffe from the heart of hell I stab at thee, Ab Retread!"
4. You may use a private message board specified by the moderator to discuss strategy at any time.

Additional note: The town investigation interferes with the scum investigation and vice versa.

Win Conditions

Town wins when all scum are dead.

Scum wins when the number of living scum is greater than or equal to the number of living town.
