Superheroes Round 5: The Tick vs Buffy the Vampire Slayer

And so, may Evil beware and may Good dress warmly and eat plenty of fresh vegetables.

I don't like this megapoll anymore.

Buffy is actually good at being a hero. The Tick is sort of a bumbler.

This one was a tough one for me, but I went with Tick because he's so enthusiastic about it all, while Buffy is frequently a reluctant hero.

That's a good argument too. Honestly no one can vote wrong here. It's just a horrible match.

Strangely enough, it wasn't me.

At least, I don't think it was...

Ok people who care post your most persuasive argument . THIS ONE IS TOO IMPORTANT!

I'm voting for competence. The Tick is powerful but a bumbler. Earnest, but often causes as much trouble as he saves.

Buffy saves the world. It's a hard burden for a teenager, so she gets angsty sometimes. But she's legit good at being a hero and Always steps up. When it's needed.

If anyone has a reason for me to vote Tick I'm all ears.

Convince me now!

Tick wears a costume and uses a codename.

In the interest of full disclosure, I don't like BTVS at all. It always seemed to be more about Sarah Michelle Gellar's boobs and overdone teenage wangst than superheroics.

The Tick is a powerful bumbler in a universe where powerful bumblers are the order of the day, good and evil alike. And yet he manages to always thwart the bad guys while being the de facto leader of the good guys. A chaotic good hero for a chaotic world.

Plus I'll kabong you with Extreme Prejudice if you vote Buffy.

And by Extreme Prejudice, I mean this thing:

I actually like the movie BTVS, but not really the series. I don't think I even made it all the way through the first season. Strangely, I did like Angel: the Series, even though I didn't know most of the people who came and visited him from Buffy's show.

This is a pretty respectable argument in favor of The Tick. I'm less thrilled with the threats.

I love the tick. Don't get me wrong. But I voted Buffy the first time and nothing here has been persuasive enough to make me go another way.

It's Buffy. I'll take my Kabong like a King.

Welp, with the loss of Tick, Shadowcat, Samurai Jack, and Beast, all my favorites are officially out of the running, so I've got zero emotional involvement as of now.

Voting in the final rounds... accordingly will be far more satisfying (to me) than any octobass kabongery. Not to mention easier on my shoulders because my bleeping arthritis is flaring up

I haven't been on the boards in a few days (Since this vote closed) and I was the one who voted Tick to tie it. It looks like that was futile, though. I am not too disappointed by Buffy, though.
