Tea Pot
When I'm contemplating using, smoking is not an option. I smoked cigs for 28 years and finally kicked the habit '06. I'm not inviting inhaling anything again.
Edibles? Not here, where it's strictly illegal. So - tea, or rather infusion, might be an option. Or not. Advice please. ![]() |

Every state is different. In Pennsylvania's Medical Program I can buy a tincture and put a few drops under my tongue. I can also buy RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) and put a drop on a cookie and eat it. Gummy Bears and the like are illegal, though.

It sounds like it's all illegal there and that's why edibles aren't available. If you don't want to smoke or vape, I'd suggest making cannabutter and using that. Lots of detailed instructions on the internet, but basically you grind up your pot and cook it gently in the butter. Strain it, cool the butter, and Bob's your uncle.

Even simpler than cannabutter is capsule making. Coconut oil, solid at room temperature but liquefies with any heat. Buy a cheap capsule making set up and some 00 capsules.
Heat your oil, add ground herb, simmer a bit and make capsules! Last edited by kayaker; 20th September 2022 at 07:53 AM. |

Oh, and to address your question about tea, in my experience, that doesn't work. You just make ineffective, horrible tasting hot water. A friend who took biochem explained it once but what it came down to was that you need hot alcohol or hot oil to extract the good stuff. And hot alcohol is extremely dangerous, so oils or fats are the way to go.

Yuppers. The active ingredient is not water soluble. In fact one of my little tricks is to soak the buds in hot water and then butter to greatly reduce the tell-tale flavor.
However I will note that tea is so important that the Scimitar light tank has a built in electric tea kettle for use during nuclear war: Quote:

AIUI edibles is something you buy, i.e. pre-packaged. Since all cannabis is illegal here, procuring edibles is not an option. What is available, and risk free, is knowing someone who grows for personal use, but doesn't sell it. If it's not on the street, so to say, it's hard for LE to find.
Vaping is out. I'm not taking the risk of anything akin to smoking, since I'm sure it may trigger smoking tobacco again. And as a recovering alcoholic, who still has problems with arthritis and sleeping, I'm looking into different ways. I'm currently on melatonin, which, for some reason, is also heavily restricted here, albeit not illegal, but only on prescription. Sweden has a very weird relationship with drugs. |

I believe any edible oil will do. So its pretty simple to whip up anything from salad dressing to cookies.

Don’t forget to decarb (heat to activate) the weed before adding it to the oil. Instructions are everywhere but this explains it well https://www.leafly.com/learn/consume...ecarboxylation
I always used coconut oil and then either just ate it or made brownies etc. with it. Melatonin is available over the counter for those of us over 50 (I think). You need to chat with a pharmacist. It does not suit me at all |
