After the longest airplane ride I've ever been on, I arrived in Shanghai. We took the MagLev train to the city (430 kph), then a terrifying taxi ride to the hotel (no seatbelts, breakneck speeds, bicyclists and scooterists everywhere).

I spept a little on the plane, but probably less that two hours total. It's 4:15 PM here - 4:15 AM at home. My room kicks ass - Club level, 25th floor, amazing view.

I fancied a salad so I went to Whole Foods Market for lunch today. I encountered samples of chips & salsa, guacamoly, fresh grapefruit, fried chicken, baked cod, pitted green olives with garlic and lemon, cheese with mango chutney, spicy pepper cheese, fresh-baked bread with butter, roasted veggies and pickled calamari salad. I know all this because I ended up walking back and forth around the store for 45 minutes eating little sample portions. Over and over. For 45 minutes.
