It's been a while since I updated this blog - almost 6 years, which hardly seems possible, but the timestamp doesn't lie. Anyways...

A lot has happened since August 2016 and today. I've posted about much of it, but to recap, we renovated for over a year with nary a pause, my MIL moved in, hilarity ensued, she moved out, I almost lost my job again, got a better one.

We completed the ILS, master bath and kids' bath, and we're regrouping now. We're going to take a couple months to pay off some revolving debt we accumulated over the last few months and try to decide what to do next. We still want to refinish the floor in the master bedroom and walk-in closet. I did some exploratory pulling-up-of-carpet in our bedroom and there's hard wood flooring under the wall-to-wall carpet. There's also a strip along the front wall of the house, about 3X12, that's not hard...

We're approaching 4 months and the job still isn't complete. We've been waiting on the electrician to wrap things up in the addition, and the full bath upstairs hasn't been started yet. My GC keeps dropping the full bath upstairs from his estimates "to save us money" and we keep telling him we've budgeted against it and as far as we're concerned it's already paid for. I think the job took too long due to all the extra work, and he wants to move on to other jobs. My wife is handling the...
