Kanopy.com
My local library shared this link. If you have a library card, it's supposed to be free. I haven't tried it yet.

I really liked Lady Bird. Interested in seeing her Mary Queen of Scots.

Inna, I have to thank you again. I'm a very non-traditional college student, and in one of my classes, we have to review a specified documentary every. freaking.week. The professor has tried to find free or close-to-free sites for all the documentaries. This week, the best she could do was youtube for $1.99. That's not much, but it wasn't good enough for me, so I Googled the title. Up pops kanopy with it for FREE. So I told her about the site, public library card, etc., and she was SO excited. She was really happy with the quality of all the documentaries and that they were free.
So thanks for getting me some brownie points! ![]() |

Does their website have a list of 'participating libraries'? I've been a bit busy to look, lately...

Thanks for posting this, and for mentioning it in that other thread as well.
My library is on the list so I signed up. I don't particularly like watching movies on the PC but I can sit for 15-20 minutes at a time. I think. |

AuntiePam, they have an app if you have a compatible device.

I have a Fire -- would that be compatible?
Anyway, I got an email from them already, asking me to double-check the way I listed my library. I did, and it's the same as what was on their list, so I'm not sure what's going on. |

I'm going to call my Library today, mine in on the list but Kanopy doesn't seem to like my card number.

What kind of courses are offered from Great Courses? Anything good for career training?

when I used to live in Carson City I got Rosetta Stone for free through there library. I miss it, it was better than Mango Languages which is what my current library offers. also Lynda.com which I also keep thinking I need to use. ![]() ![]() |

If you're already signed up you probably got this in your email, but Kanopy now has a selection of movies that don't count towards your monthly limit.

Bumping this to remind y'all to check your library's online options. My local library has a ton of online stuff. I was just poking around at the website, they have all kinds of data bases, classes, ebooks. Get your library card out and check out what is available to you.

![]() And when beer/ale enthusiasts such as myself are in Western Massachusetts it means "Berkshire Brewing Company," but that's not important right now. I just signed up with Kanopy through UT. It says for students or faculty, but they went by my domain. (@utexas.edu) Here's the thing: UT offers all staff, retirees, and alumni a free @utexas.edu email address just for asking. SO if your library isn't on the list, you might check and see if your alma mater is and if they offer a similar email setup.

I signed up online and they mailed the physical card to me a few days later. But I got everything I need for online Library stuff the next day.
