Rules

1. This is a normal game of mafia and the moderator will not lie to you. There are two faction and two win conditions.

2. Days will be 3 days/72 hours long, nights will be 24 hours. If you don’t like the EoD time, you may complain to the management. Adjustments are possible.

3. Do not discuss this game outside of the game thread or any private mod-sanctioned communication.

4. Vote with [ vote ]Jan&Dean[ /vote ] but without the spaces inside the tags; it should be blue: Please try to spell the usernames correctly, or at least consistently.

5. To change your vote, first Unvote with [ unvote ]Beach Boys[ /unvote]; it should be red: You can put anything inside the unvote tags and your vote will be removed. You can be absolutely inconsistent here.

6. Only one active vote at a time—no multivoting.

7. Daily elimination is by plurality. In the case of a tie, the winner—or loser I guess you’d say—will be decided by a secret method known only to the moderator and the Illuminati, who know everything.

8. During the Night phase, PM any actions you have to the mod.

8a. I before E except after C, except in those cases where it’s wrong, which is a lot of them. I hate those words.

9. As a mod I don’t particularly care if you edit a post but your fellow players may object. Don’t quote any mod communications verbatim but you may paraphrase.

10. Please post! A player who doesn’t make at least 3 posts per Day will be warned on first offense, and modkilled on second offense.

11. Other rules may be added at the mod’s discretion if they’re needed. They will be posted in this thread and in the game thread.

If I quote a post with a vote in it, is it customary to break the vote tags so it doesn’t (superficially) appear to be another vote for that person?

To clarify, in the event of a question (not that this is going to come up again in this game), a vote for no elimination is a real vote and the wishes of the majority will prevail.

HOWEVER, in the event of a tie between a player and a No-X vote, there will be no tiebreak mechanic; the player will be dunked. In the event of a 3-way tie between 2 players and No-X, the tiebreak will be between the players.

This wasn't made clear in the rules and I can no longer edit them.

Also, a hammer is possible, but this also needs to be agreed upon by the majority of players by adding "Hammer" either to their vote post or in a separate post after they've voted. It should also be blue so that it stands out.
