She was Heffalump and Roo on the Dope but doesn't post there anymore. People around here kinda thought she was a "concern troll" as she'd go down every rabbit hole on board policy and some other things so they boxed her. Turns out, she's not a troll and just honestly like that but everyone (seemingly even Roo) felt pretty good about the arrangement anyway so in the box she stayed.

I don't have all the links, but the short version (and the order may be wrong) is that every time a mod did anything (including being appointed as a mod*), Roo would be there concern-trolling. This pissed a lot of people off. Then she started "warning" new posters with her concern trolling ("Welcome to the boards, but the moderation is terrible" type stuff) Giraffe finally made a set of Rooles to stop the behavior. It didn't work.

Seven told her to knock off some behavior or other and Roo started spamming the "Report Post" button ("Is this X behavior?"-->wait 30 seconds or whatever the turnaround is->"Is this X behavior?"-->wait 30 seconds or whatever the turnaround is. There were 3 or four spammed reports and Seven boxed her before she could spam more)

Sometime around then, Roo had the crackpot idea that there should be a "Mods aren't allowed to moderate here "Free-for-All" forum". Giraffe shot that one down with the unanimous agreement of all other staff (and bunches of posters paltr at her). The best bit is that she could never explain how The Pit and the "Free For All" forum would differ, other than in her mind, there was a stigma from posting in the box(?)

Anyway, she kept getting in these endlessly recursive rules fights and there was unanimous agreement to Perma-Box her.

With all due respect to MakesNoticeOfThings, IMO, she is a concern troll, she's just a sincere one.

Here's an example of what EVERY thread with Roo was like before she was permaboxed

This one's no big deal in a vacuum. But EVERY time a mod did something, she'd start this kind of thread. This one's only a sample.

*she was bitching about how nervous/concerned she was about how terrible and oppressive all the mods were...~30 minutes after Giraffe made us mods? Because that one's right here

She's tried to walk that one back a few times: "It was only a joke" or "You guys were just appointed and were already talking about rules" (we were talking about a consistent spoiler policy asking people for their input.) or...there was at least one more excuse that I don't remember.

Well, it's a matter of differing definitions. I think the sincerity means she's not a troll, just kinda annoying. Looks like our memories mostly line up though.

She's NOT a bad poster and starts some interesting threads (which would be less creepy if she ever stated her opinions too).

But when she's able to post all over the Boards, any mod action makes her into a crazy person. In the Box, that tendency seems to be suppressed. Which is why a lot of n00bs can't figure out why she was perma-boxed because she seems so nice. I'm >< this close to posting a locked sticky in the Box saying "Why is Roo permaboxed?" with links. I probably won't, but I'm tempted.

Especially since I have the same feeling as you about a large influx of posters.
