I just had a Facebook friend request from my cousin. I haven't seen her in thirty years!
I looked through her photos! Too cool.

passed my latest belt test today! We've been doing Zoom classes for months and recently outdoor ones.

The test was outdoors this morning and a fine Maryland morning it was: stupidly humid and temps in the upper 80s at test time.

Only screwed up a couple lesser things, did more than required in a couple others and I left with my next belt! And a few pounds lighter.

Congrats on the belt!

Puppies. Kittens. Flowers.
Dammit, I need the good here!

Warren was in fine fettle today and we walked over 10 blocks. He has always has wanderlust, and since he is so slow I can finally let him off leash in the park. Today he decided to take himself on an adventure out of the park. He's so slow I could gather up my stuff, stop by the trash can, and Still get ahead of him before he got past the edge of the park. Adventuredoooog!

I PM'd him yesterday which hopefully sends him an Email. I hope he checks in soon and with some better news.

He hasn't been on GB for nearly 4 days now.

he said he was driving but Phoenix wouldn't take 4 days. I guess it's just possible he has more on his mind than updating us.

I'm sure he does. Just hoping he's doing OK, well as OK as is possible.

2020, the year from hell. I figure we're due either a massive volcano, a big earthquake or and/or a tsunami in the next few months.

so far my 2019 was worse, no contest.

but we have a ways to go and the election and aftermath is bound to be ugly.
and of course the virus is still gaining in my county.

You helped me get through my cancer. I'm available to get you through your repeat. They won't tell me that I won't repeat. Just tell me what you need, and I'll be there for you. PMs are your friend. And I owe you. Big-time. You are a big part of the reason I'm still alive. You have one hell of a big store of good-will to draw upon. You are one of the world's "Good People".

PS: I don't know whether or not it means anything or matters to you, but when I told my mother about you she added you to her church's 'prayer list'. she/they has/have you down as "Glazer". She got it when I mentioned that you did glass windows for a living. If you want them to have a different name, PM me and I'll pass it on.

I think positivity of any form, be it prayer, love, or wishful thinking, certainly can't hurt. I've been sending weird vibes to both of you and neither one of you has been struck by lightning yet.

I agree with Alky. You were there for Darrin, and that meant the world to me.
Seriously, Dude. We can send supplies - start an Amazon "wish list" so that anyone who wants to can help and those who don't won't have to look at it. Let us feel good about being helpful. There was so much I planned to do for Darrin, but he went so unexpectedly that I couldn't.

I know Glazer has more important things to worry about than us yahoos, but I'm still thinking about him and hoping he's alright. Does anyone have non-geeb contact methods for him?

I'm with Drags on this--hell, I'm on Amazon all the time anyway so drop shipping some supplies to Glazer would be literally zero trouble. Or kicking into a PayPal account for gas and drugs, also no trouble. I couldn't do a thing to help either of the Darrins who died of cancer but I can sure do whatever I can to help a friend battle it.

So I needed a particular USB cord that isn't one of the common ones. And they are kinda pricey when you buy them and I am a cheapskate.

So today I went to the big thrift store and spent about 20 minutes digging through the vast quantities of cords they have. Found two of the kind I needed for $1.99 each.

Got both and brought them home and just tested them and they work fine.

Score!

I'm not overly fond of FB, and am starting to actively dislike it more and more every day. I used to use it to keep in contact with my framily, but with today's world seemingly falling apart, it's become a shitstorm of negativity on all fronts. I still use it, though, because my mom's on there and it's a nice way to see that she's up and active without calling her all the time.

I avoid it. I've been on it a few more times this week, since I joined a group. And if I'm on, I will send birthday wishes and stuff. My DIL is on there, and she will tell me to go look at various photos and videos of the grandkids.

Plus my 15-yr-old granddaughter recently joined, so I send her subversive leftist political stuff! Like AOC's speech to Congress the other day. She likes it!

We had a conversation the other day - an actual conversation! - about politics and she's quite interested. I'm not an expert at all, but she wants me to send her stuff. She was supposed to give me her Instagram info, but she (conveniently?) forgot.

This morning was pretty nice and it took a while to get hot so I played a 9 hole round of Frisbee golf at the city park 2 blocks away. I've been to the park several times but never played a round. This time I took a couple of Frisbees (okay, one Frisbee brand and a couple of little dollar store flying discs). And I stopped keeping score when I realized I was not going to shoot par on a single hole. But it was fun. And I wore my mask since I was in a city park the whole time. Only saw one other person in the park and they were sitting at a picnic table nowhere near the disc golf.

So has anyone heard anything from @Glazer? It has been 9 days now.

I'm hoping it is something like he's too busy or no charge on his phone, but feeling nervous for his safety.
