Any birders on here?

Howdy all -

I got this shot yesterday (Oct. 3rd, 2020) in North Cascades National Park, WA...



I think it's a female Evening Grosbeak, but I've never seen an Evening Grosbeak before, so any and all opinions are welcome.

I think you're right. It looks pretty much exactly like the photo in my National Geographic field guide. It even has the white spots on the tail.

I also just really like Peregrines - they're hard to get a shot of, though. This one was in flight yesterday in Skagit County, WA:

My sister, an avid birder, agrees it is a female Evening Grosbeak.

Thanks! I see a bunch of Peregrines, but not usually close enough for a good photo; I should try brightening the shadows in photoshop on this one, see if I can get a little more of that face revealed.
