Happy 4-20

Since its the middle of the afternoon and nobody else has started a 4/20 thread, I assume y'all are too righteously baked to do it. Excellent! I'm working on an excellent jar of Elephante and plotting a feast for dinner. I would ask about your plans, but of course you wouldn't remember right now anyway.

I been rockin' the ganj all dang day--had an excellent massage, got the defective laptop on its way back to the goniffs who sold it to me and made up like 15+ lbs of mixed chopped meat in bags to freeze for the doggos to enjoy in their dinners and I been in a righteous fog the whole time. Thanks for reminding me, though, I think it's time I slip another bullet into the flower vape and sharpen up my being high skillz.

If you're organized enough to do that, you're not stoned enough!

I've been basically useless all day, like the great fairy what lives in the sky intended. My legs and back are a little sore from all the hauling and dragging yesterday so I took another sloth day. Got some steaks marinating and bread rising for dinner. And now I think its time to roll a fattie and go for a nice long stroll.

Sheeeyit I made some gummies with ABV FECO today. Tastes exactly like it sounds but holy hell it is potent with a high unlike any I've ever had. But that taste.

I have no idea what the dose is. When I tested it this afternoon I'd forgotten I hadn't eaten today, so there's that to consider. I'm pretty much coming down from it now with a nice sleepiness. Holy shit, what a ride.

Haven't I bragged about that before? Its the only way to go. Smooth as silk. I'm thinking about getting an electric ice shaver for summer.

Today's challenge is a fresh batch of Blue Dream that's so sticky-icky its just about impossible to get a nug in the bowl and not all over your fingers. I ended up snipping tiny bits into a one hitter with scissors. #FirstWorldProblems

It has been here all day and I’m in a nice place, firefly+ in hand, I baked brownies and licked the mixing bowl then ate one warm from the oven. There is some chocolate in the fridge made from different oil if I want to mix and match.

I will be nuking dinner, no sharp implements required.

Happy 4/20 all

Looks like I'm relegated to eating caramels today. I've had to cut back on the edibles -- the voracious munchies get kinda out of control. I mean, nobody should wake up in a bed of jelly beans, but that's my world right now.

Here's my stoner caramel recipe if anyone wants it. It's not the original recipe, it's halved. Unless you are feeding an army of hippies, the full recipe makes way more than I have room to store in my fridge or freezer, and halving the portions makes it easier to fuck with when I'm Cooking While Stoned.

.5 C cannabutter
1 C granulated sugar
.5 C brown sugar
.5 C evaporated milk
.5 C light corn syrup
1 C heavy cream
.5 tsp sea salt
1 tsp vanilla

Prepare a 9x9 baking dish (or whatever you feel like using, these things are seriously hard to mess up) by spraying or greasing, then place a sheet of parchment in the pan, lightly spraying the paper. Toss everything but the vanilla into a heavy pan and cook it on medium heat, stirring constantly until it reaches 250F. Remove from heat and add the vanilla, then pour the mixture into the pan. Once it has cooled use the parchment paper to lift out the sheet of caramels and cut them to whatever sizes you want.

They'll last around 2 weeks unrefrigerated. If I'm giving them to someone else I'll usually wrap them in waxed paper, but recently I've been tossing them in a bag with a small amount of cornstarch which seems to work well, too. I never leave them unrefrigerated for more than a couple hours, though.

The gummie recipe from upthread has been excised from my brain, that's how horrible they tasted. No matter how much I try I cannot replicate a decent gummie texture and flavor. Bah.

I don't see anything wrong with that, as long as "jelly beans" isn't a euphemism here.

The day before yesterday, while returning from a trip to the PNW, we passed through Mendocino County. We paused at a dispensary and bought two prerolls of a sativa (Hella Jellies X Sweeties) from the grower Talking Trees.

Dang, if we knew how good that stuff is, we'd have bought a jar of it, as I'm low on our homegrown sativa. It smells green and sweet and clean, and it's a nice energetic high. We have enough to last through the end of today, so it was a good 4-20 purchase.

Happy 4-20 everyone. And here's a toke in your memory, Khampy.

Nope, not a euphemism at all. I discovered SweeTart jelly beans last year and after one bag before Easter, I never saw them again. Until a month ago. So I bought fifteen bags to last the year.

Hey y'all! I got up earlyish and my first errand stop was at my local dispensary, which had 50% off oil carts woohoo! I maxed out the 5 a day limit on high octane THC carts and the 2:1 THC/CBD carts are a separate limit so I got a couple of those too. The 2:1 is great for daytime use, very mild but with plenty of CBD for relax/anxiety and pain control. I got a mix of sativa/indica and I have extra magnet bottoms for my oil vape so now I have the perfect mix--a 2:1 pen that can get tossed in my purse, and an indica and a sativa cart for use in the primary vape unit. I also stocked up on the CBD gummies I take every day for sleep/COVID protection.

Thing is, they tell you at the store to make sure every cart works correctly because the fail rate on them is sometimes high in a batch and they can only exchange within a reasonable time from purchase. Being an obedient little consumer I did exactly that--aaaaallll seven of them, one hit each minimum but the strawberry guava and blueberry cookies definitely warranted a second hit. Yeeeeeeaaaahhhh. Whoof. I need to pull myself together, I gotta eat sometime today lol.

Did you know where 4/20 originated? I thought it was police radio code for a pot bust, but apparently that is false. Oh, yeah, it's also Hitler's birthday, and the anniversary of the Columbine Shooting. (In both cases, the perpetrators definitely should have stepped back to bake. )

I had a great 420. I stopped at a local dispensary and bought my daily limit of three ounces of Lilac Diesel for seventy dollars. Lilac Diesel is one of my favorite sativa strains.

Next time you feel like complaining about the price or quality of the weed you're getting, think of this--may I present the top strains of 1977? The struggle was real, yo.

Yeah, but that Thai stick had enough real opium on it to be kind of scary. And Acapulco Gold would still kick your ass if you could get some today. The rest of the ganj, (not to mention the clothes, music, and cars) is better forgotten.

We need to legalise, admittedly I buy named strains, top shelf medical grade, flushed of all chemicals and cured stuff but the price is ridiculous, around $300 an ounce.

(Most folks here just buy a bag of weed without any clue as to the strain, I can’t do that anymore, it is generally pretty nasty and still costs them at least $250)

There is a reason my dealer shows up in a near new Mercedes. He does look after me though with epilepsy helpful strains, I can’t complain about him, just the stupidity of illegality when we have one of the highest usage rates in the world. It is a risk to grow and sell and that deserves compensation but ugh.

I have grown in the past but invariably get paranoid about the smell and too close neighbours. I don’t need the local riff raff jumping the fence to nick it. There is no room in the house for a grow tent. Riding around on my bike in the early morning I can identify which houses are growing very easily during flowering season.

ETA I have been offered a prescription for the legal stuff but it would set me back $1000 a month according to my neuro. I’ll stay under the radar thanks. Most with prescriptions end up buying from the black market anyway due to supply issues, it is legal in name only really.

I had a fantastic grow for a few years. My house had a cold cellar under the front porch. It was a 10' x 10' room. I ran air cooled hoods with 600 watt and 400 watt HPS lights. The air pulled through the hoods by Dayton blowers discharged through a carbon filter and out the side of the block wall.

I had 8 - 10 flowering plants and you could sit on my porch, or walk around my house and never smell a thing.

Selling that house allowed me to move in with my gf, but man do I miss growing!
