I don't really believe in an afterlife but I hope there is one so my Daddy can be with his parents.

The funeral is Jan 5th. It will be a Catholic Mass. I haven't been to church in years. I won't be able to take Communion being a Satanist and all. It would be wrong.

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I miss my Daddy every day and he's been gone these 10 years.
I hope his passing was peaceful in hospice and that your mom was able to be there. When You Meet Someone Deep in Grief by Partricia McKernon Runkle Slip off your shoes and set them by the door. Enter barefoot this darkened chapel, hollowed by loss, hallowed by sorrow, its grey stone walls and floor. You, congregation of one are here to listen, not to sing. Kneel in the back pew, make no sound. Let the candles speak. |

You will be in communion with family and friends even without taking Communion from the church.

The question here is what do YOU want to do and what would your Daddy want? My Daddy would would fly into forever giggling if I did something that outraged and horrified the family.

I think I will take communion. Everyone else will be. Only my kids and grandkids know I'm a Satanist.
