Goddamned photobucket!!!

I've been using photobucket for ages, but today for some reason, a lot of the pictures I've posted are saying "Bandwidth Exceeded". WTF??? Is that only temporary? I tried deleting some old ones, but it's still doing that? (Yes, I know it's not about how much space I have, but I decided to try it anyways)

I've never had this happen before, and it's pissing me off.

Any ideas? Stupid fucking photobucket.

Stop posting titty pictures and people will stop using up all your bandwidth.

Do you have a standard account or a Pro account? Because a standard account has a 10GB/month bandwidth limitation. If you have a lot of people browsing or downloading your pictures, you could easily exceed that.

Or Photobucket could be having some issues. You should ask them about it.

Just standard (I'd go pro, but I am flat broke) I've just never had this happen before -- so many people browsing my pics. And I don't have anything more than usual. (I've used a lot more pictures in the past) It said I was using all of my bandwidth. Hmmm...who knows?

Oh well.

That's why it's a good idea to spread your photos out on different account/sites. All it takes is one good pic (or one posted on a popular site), and your entire collection goes down.

Oh, and keep backups just in case, too.

According to the TOS, you get 500 MB of storage space. Bandwidth is more of an upload/download limit. The number of files you have on there (as long as it's below 500 MB) isn't an issue, except that it gives more targets for downloading.

And it's entirely possible that Photobucket is having some type of hiccup and they just think that you have used up your bandwidth. Ask 'em. It can't hurt.

ETA: Reading Ironhorse's post makes me ask - have you posted links to your Photobucket pics here? Since Photobucket is hosting the pics, views here could affect your bandwidth numbers.

I definitely have back-ups. I never upload pics without keeping them on my computer (and of course, most of it I eventually put on a portable hard drive)

I'm using about 88mb of storage (17%)

Any reccomendations for another photo host? Like I said, I opened a second PB account for the time being, and switched some of the pictures I had on LJ to that one. (I'm a bad girl!)

I'll look and see if I can't find a way to contact them and do that. Thanks.
