It was Lower Decks but I finished it all, so I switched to Beavis & Butt-Head, which I finished too. Now it's back episodes of Antiques Roadshow.

First I have to tell you my Kevin Bacon connection. I know the guy who played the drug dealer in Footloose! Apparently they are still friends (in truth I know his husband better, we used to both have the same literary agent).

God, there are a lot of good John Cusack movies to choose from, but Better Off Dead is a classic and the first that comes to mind. Incidentally, the woman who wrote "Must Love Dogs," made into perhaps the WORST John Cusack movie, *also* was represented by that agent.

PBM have you ever been to a Broadway show?

I wouldn't call it a timeless classic, but 'Nobody' is a decent action flick consisting mostly of excellent fight scenes tied together with a smattering of plot.

PBM, Have all the really good movies been made already?

I don't think so, no! With movies like Everything, Everywhere, All At Once coming out very very very recently, amongst others, I think new brilliant minds are going to come into the limelight! What's accepted as brilliant in the future might not be to your tastes, but alas. 'Tis how the world works. I'm not really a movie person, though, so... grains of salt should be taken!

Additionally, art forms rarely ever die. Chances are even if the mainstream is filled with something different, *someone, somewhere* is making an indie film or something similar in the style you like! And then it'll become even more special and sentimental and nostalgic.

PBM, your genuine opinion on the BEST classic horror film. (Bias is allowed.)

These days, I'll take Monopoly because it's not as big a commitment. Also if you actually play by the rules it's a fun game that is over an hour or so. My family has had fun with the spin off games like Pokemon Monopoly and Zelda Monopoly.

If you'd asked me a few decades ago, I'd have said sense of smell. Who wouldn't want to be able to detect the slightest change in appropriately-gendered pheremones?
But ask me now, and I'll go with sense of sight. I'm tired of fetching a magnifying glass to read the fine print of medicine or even microwave directions. And it would be sweet to be able to drive at night again.

3 apartments, 4 houses now. When I was little, we lived in an apartment up in NYC, I shared one with 3+ friends in San Diego and then my wife and I had an apartment for 2 years with easy access to the train. Navy housing is hard to qualify, barracks, effectively dorm rooms and then the berthing on the USS Ranger. But overall 45 years in 4 houses. We're on our third, 2 years in.

I'm on my third, I guess. It feels like I forgot one but nope. I didn't drive until after college, and I went a few years without a car. The current care is ten years old, thinking of getting on the waiting list for a new one since I do drive a lot these days.

I would add an attached greenhouse to the east, south, and west sides of the shack. Basically a wraparound porch with a ground cover floor. In winter, the outside wall would be polycarbonate panels in lightweight frames mounted on a french cleat for quick removal. In summer those would be replaced with bug screen and shade cloth as needed. Winter salad greens in pots along the south wall, hot tub in the corner, brick BBQ near the kitchen door, smoking lounge out back. Tube type skylights in the house to prevent dark cave syndrome. On a sunny winter day, the south wall would collect about 15 kW of solar heat and warm the house to about 40 degrees above outdoors. As unfinished space it would not add to the taxable square footage.

Yes, likely in the form of another snow/ice storm. Last week we got a layer of ice with a half inch of deceptively innocent fluffy snow on top. Usually my back hurts from shoveling; this time it hurts because I did that wacky "whuuuuOOHoooowhoooa" thing we all do when we're trying to capture our balance amidst going ass over applecart on the ice. I think that can wrench a muscle worse than actually falling. I can't wait to do it again in two days. Woohoo.

PBM, what do you use to help the pain after killing your back with a snow shovel?

I use the snowblower and have my 20-something kids do the shovel work. When I use a shovel I am extremely careful as my back sucks and when it goes out it can be for weeks. So far we had a warm January and it is looking like the warmest February on record for Central Jersey.

I don't. I used to get motivated to lose weight; then I realized that every time I did so, I wound up gaining the weight back plus twenty pounds, even though I was still eating less than I'd been eating when I weighed the twenty pounds less. So I quit going on weight loss diets, and the gain tapered off to negligible. I'm still fat, but at least I'm not going to wind up unable-to-move-around fat.

PBM, have you been having an extraordinarily warm February for your area? I'm in upstate New York and we've been above freezing almost every day of the month.

Another Dodge Omni. My first one could do 0-60 faster than a stock Trans-Am: 9.9 for the TM, I did it in 9.3. I bought a stopwatch just to try that. It's top speed was only 115, but, damn, it was impressive off the line. My next two cars were used ones, since they stopped making them two years after I bought mine new, but they were just as fast off the line.

Depends on the slaw. Some examples are excellent; some are indeed gross; most are kind of meh, I don't want more than three bites of that.

Yup, ahistorically mild here in Southern New England ... aside from that polar vortex intrusion a coupla weeks ago when it was insanely cold for something like 36 hours. Almost as if the historical climate patterns have been altered somehow; odd, that, eh?

PBM, was Alky driving a stock Omni or an Omni GLHS? 'Cause I never took my Plymouth Horizon (cross-badged Omni) to the strip, it seemed underpowered to me ... but I was used to GM big blocks at the time, so who knows?

No! I didn't know that was a thing. Is it part of the song?

I live in SE Texas and it is unusually warm here for February. It was 80° yesterday - it's typically 60ish this time of year. I'm skeered of how hot it might get this summer.

As for cole slaw - I use Marie's cole slaw dressing and it is the best!

Probably a couple of tacos. I'll hit Del Taco on the way to school. They've killed off the breakfast items I liked, so now the order is just 2 Del Tacos + sour cream. Then I'm good until dinner.

My go-to cole slaw dressing is a 50/50 mix of Marie's and Duke's.
