Felt vs. MC: Mafia Day 6 Thread

As the few remaining players get up to convene, they find it hard to get to their destination! This was because of the massive machine crowding the halls, winding around the various hallways and rooms. There were gold-plated gears, and LEGOs, and bits that looked suspiciously like goat leather, all combined into the most bizarre assembly line ever made. Along this assembly, various weapons of mild annoyance were primed--Nerf guns, crumpled balls of paper, D4s sitting on the ground and the like. And if it were started, you'd imagine it would sound like this: DOO DEE DOO DEE DOO DOO / DOO DEE DOO DEE DOO DOO.

At the end of it all was Idle. Covered in mild rug burns, tiny rubber band welts and mild newspaper bruises, he appears to have suffered just enough scratch damage to hit critical existence failure.

Idle Thoughts, who was Clover (Town ???), is dead.

Day 6 ends at 10:00 AM MDT on Friday, March 25.

The number to hammer...is 2.

For the record (because I've been getting questions about this): if the game goes such that there are only two non-absent players, and one of them is scum (a situation that may or may not be possible at this juncture), then the scum will immediately win. I've ruled thusly both because it's what would have happened if the absent players were dead, and because it would be really unsatisfying to see the game come down to a tie war.

I'm sorry, but I just don't believe Sis Coyote's VT claim. I know she said that she has seen games with only a single VT, but I'm not buying what she's trying to sell.

Can I be counted as not absent, just not able to participate much? I should have been abroad, which hasn't worked out. I'm still not home but am probably gong to be able to nip in once or twice a Day or so. I really don't want Town to lose this one.

I am unlikely to have much analysis, although I know that either Sis, Bob or both is scum. No results toDay as yet.

Sure, but if there's only one present townie with a usable vote, and one present scum with a usable vote, the scum autowins anyway, as is standard in the game (except usually if there's only one present townie with a vote, then there's only one townie, period.)

And I've had a sex change too... I knew this time travel was a bad thing..

Ok so I'm happy to accept Romola and Lucifer as TOWN ... so that just leaves me a choice between Sister Coyote and BobAargh.

My thoughts on there being a caretaker in the game turned out to be true so we still don't know and from how I read the colour in the Night thread we won't get to know until endgame what side BillMc was on but looking at what's turned up dead so far I feel he could well have been TOWN..

For what it's worth I protected myself last Night... I did this because with it looking likely that Romola had claimed correctly then both myself and Idle Thoughts were pretty much confirmed TOWN and I thought it best to keep alive the one that had a power..

I'll need some time to think about who I might vote for toDay but it will be one of 2 unless some sparkling new evidence comes to light... there's 5 players left now so it means that there could still be 2 SCUM amongst us ..

@Moody: I'm with you on thinking there might be 2 Scum left. I am confident that Sis is Scum, and I've been worried that Lucifer is pulling a fast one.

My fear is that he, too, is Scum and has been laying so low as to be completely submerged. I don't think we have to fear his votes, but I dread getting down to the wire only to find him popping back in and having the Scum steal the win because all of a sudden he jumps from non-participant to participant. (Kind of like the way Romola just did, but I am convinced she is Town based on her investigation of Ulla).

I think we should have lynched Lucifer back when we had the chance, just to make sure we don't have a sneak attack from an unexpected corner.

I'm not 100% certain, but I was reading some D1 stuff the other day and I could have sworn that I saw that Lucifer was logged in because of the green dot by his name. A few minutes later, I came across his name again and the dot was no longer green. I don't know for sure that he was on, and my mind might have been playing tricks on me, but it made me stop to consider that it was definitely a possibility.

@Romola: Glad to have you back. We need all the help we can get, especially since it looks like it could come down to a "number of participating players" thing. We can sure use your analysis.

Well, I know I'm not Scum, and Romola tells us repeatedly that Moody's not Scum (), and I'm inclined to believe Romola's not Scum.

Therefore.

Bob, my results say Luci is Town. If you're right in thinking there are 2 scum. it's you and Sis. Of course you don't have to accept the results I have, but if you didn't, it would make more sense to lynch me than Luci.

I wish I had a vote left, it would be going to Bob, I think, for the above quoted attempt to muddy the (fairly clear) wters.

Ok what are folks thoughts on the reveal toDay...

it reads Idle Thoughts TOWN???? is dead.

What do we think is the reason for that when we've already lynched the SCUM janitor ? I'm only asking because I begin to worry when things get down to the sharp end and things appear simple.

Vote BobAargh

Why him over Sister Coyote? Because, they were the last player yesterDay to vote for Total Ulla. But, they were very quick in following me with the hammer when it became obvious that Total Ulla was definitely going to swing.

If we're to believe his "claimed" role... he's a Scotsman anyway so he won't die and we'll have another confirmed player... sure SCUM will take one of us out toNight but they'd do that anyway. I feel this route if he is telling the truth will give us another confirmed TOWN player.

I was swung by his post also where he still seems to debate the possibility of Lucifer not being TOWN..

If he's happy to accept Romolas results that I'm TOWN then why not Lucifer?

Of course Romola could still be lying. We've not had a new result from her since her claim. Fair enough if she's telling the truth , then it's just the luck of the draw but if she's lying... and the results she gave.. apart from possibly sacrificing Total Ulla were not surprising.. 1 a player who'd claimed Doc and not been countered in 2 Days... and 2 a player who'd already asked to be subbed out.

I'm not saying that she isn't telling the truth because we've not had a counter on that claim either and I don't think a game that had a Doc and a weak Doc in it would not have a Cop... but let's not forget that BillMc is still unknown. To us maybe but would SCUM have known his role and is that why they hid it...

Sorry if that's rambled a bit but I feel that there are players that are dead watching us just accept what's put in front of us and are screaming at their screens... I'm sometimes not the best for discussion or looking closer at things but the lack of talk in this game has frustrated even me.

On preview I see that Romola echoes some of what I say regarding BobAargh

I think it's consistent with Idle's role claim; apparently, his role is nameless or to be determined in some probability that never happened.

I say this because -- under normal circumstances -- a Janitor erases everything about a player's alignment, role, and so forth, not just the character name.

I guess so... we know he had alluded to some sort of power but I suppose that he never achieved what he needed to in order to get that power so it will remain a mystery

I was going to say that Idle claimed he was the "Town (???)" back on D1, but I see that Sis beat me to it.

Interesting. No comment about the votes against you or any comment that I'm correct in thinking that if you get lynched you'll still be around because you're a Scotsman.

I think the only 3 players with a vote have made their vote so it might be worth putting the hammer down.

What do others think ?

I think giving it just a smidgeon of time might be for the best, for everyone to have the chance to reconsider, but I'm not 100% opposed.

That's fine by me... I'd like everyone to be able to have a say but if it's just going to be countless hours of no posting I feel it would be best to hammer..

Lets give it another 12 hours or so

@Moody: I didn't think you were really waiting for me to comment.

I know I'm Town, Sis says she knows that she is Town, you say you're Town, Romola says Lucifer is Town, and Lucifer isn't talking.

There's not a whole lot to say. It all comes down to somebody is lying. I know that I'm not lying, and each of us has his or her suspicions.

Of all of us, I believe you and Romola are telling the truth, I don't believe Sis's VT claim, and I'm very suspicious of Lucifer. I know Romola investigated Lucifer, but if he is a Godfather, then his investigation would have come back as Town. So, yes, I believe she got a result on Lucifer, but I'm not 100% sure I believe it.

And I agree with you about the hammer. I'm all for hammering instead of yammering.

So if you agree with most of what I say. Why don't you agree that as a Scotsman , you won't die ? If you truly are what you say you are then the worst I can see happening to you is that we get another confirmed TOWN player.

I know that you've not played many games but if you are a Scotsman you should know that being lynched would prove this.

And Romola says she is getting results from random investigations... if the cop doesn't get to choose their target I don't see the need for a Godfather

Sorry, I didn't understand what you were driving at with the Scotsman issue. Yes, if I am lynched toDay, I won't die, and I will live to see toMorrow.

Good point on the Godfather. That makes pretty good sense. I see now we probably don't need to worry about a Scummy Lucifer lurking in the shadows.

Regarding my vote on Ulla yesterday, I didn't vote until we had heard from Idle. I wanted to see if he had any more information for us, as well as try to hear some sort of defense from Ulla. However, I wasn't going to sit around making everyone wait for several days. I would be annoyed if someone had done that to me. If Idle had wanted to go down another path, I wanted there to be some modicum of fair discussion.

Also, I didn't want to put a vote on Ulla while waiting for Idle on the chance that 2 Scum could swing the hammer. The way I saw it playing out is that 2 Town might drop the hammer and then 2 Scum would drop the hammer, effectively shutting Idle out of any discussion. At the time of yesterDay's vote and hammer, I was very worried of the possibility that Lucifer would rise from the ashes and start participating.

Once we had heard from Idle, I was comfortable dropping the hammer on the Day.

I'm still going to leave my vote on Sis, though.

Hammer

I know it's earlier than I said but I can't see anything being gained by leaving it..

You agree you're a Scotsman and won't die... your suspicion of Sister Coyote is well noted but you seem very against proving your claim.

At this stage of the game we need as many confirmed as we can get.

Our Mod explains the Hammer situation Here

And it says if the required amount opt for "hammer then the Day ends... so we might be on a loser BUT.... yesterDay with 7 players still alive the "hammer" was 4 players (a majority)... toDay the "hammer" is only set to 2 which isn't a majority of living players... so we might be able to argue a technicality...

It is my opinion that the Day ended as soon as I dropped the hammer this morning at 7:27 AM (CDT) since I was the second hammer, but we have to wait until Pede shows up to clarify.
