Talladega Week 4

Posted 1st August 2012 at 09:47 AM by Metallic Squink

It is so freaking hot! I cannot even breathe outside. My run this morning was so slow but surprisingly, I still feel good about it. I think the problem was that I did my 7-miler at about 1:00 in the afternoon yesterday because we had a massive thunderstorm all morning. And then today I did a fasting run, it was super humid and I probably hadn't let myself recover enough from yesterday's run (it was pretty hot and humid yesterday but, because of all the rain, it wasn't as bad as it could have been).

Because of the heat, I've been getting up pretty early to run which is good since school starts soon and I'll need to be done with my run and showered by 7:30 am at the latest.

I can't even imagine. I have to work outdoors, for about 4 hours every day, usually between the hours of 10 and 2. Voluntarily running in temps like that is..beyond what my mind can comprehend! Its all I can do to get the route done at 100+ - and we've got pretty dry heat.
    Kudos to you!

I hear ya--I am back to running at night. I have been using my headlamp and my lightup collar for my dog that I usually use in the dead of winter!
