Original Gangstas (1996)
I love this movie! It is so over the top that you can’t help but love it. Set (and filmed) in Gary, Indiana, where young punk gang members are terrorizing the town, and the old generation of gangsters, who have moved on to successful careers and a sense of community, come back out of retirement to set things right. Very satisfying to this aging movie viewer. Lots of 1970s “blacksploitation” stars appear, and it is a whole lot of fun, mostly tongue in cheek. But pretty violent, too! The OGs include Fred Tomlinson, Jim Brown, Pam Greer, Richard Roundtree, and other 70s genre stars kickin' butt!
