Today I'm not gonna pick up after my husband, just to see how long it takes him to clean up his stuff.

This morning there were

• potato chips on the floor by his chair
• a dirty plate, mustard container and fork on the dining room table
• a cheese stick (still wrapped) and one half-eaten on the kitchen counter
• an empty soda bottle on the counter

The guy can never find a trash can and he can never put anything away when he's finished with it. He grumps at me when he can't...

My propane dealer called this morning and said I paid them twice last year, so I have a huge credit on my account -- enough to pay for this year's propane with about $500 left over.

I have no idea how that happened. I pay by credit card, once a year, over the phone. They said I called in June and paid, and I paid again in July. I vaguely remember getting a call from them last year after I thought I'd paid, and giving them my credit card info again.

So woo hoo!...

stay the fuck off my face! Freakin' flies! I bet I've killed 30 today. There's no garbage (or other dead things) in the house. Where do they come from and what do they want!!!

Sigh. Plumber coming. About two inches of water on the floor, which is half tile and half carpet. Dammit.

There was some clean kitty litter on the floor next to the cat box. The water expanded it from tiny granules to big blobs. I have no way to clean it up until the water's gone. How embarrassing! I suppose the plumber's seen worse, but still . . .

And the carpet cleaning machine is on the fritz, so I don't know how I'll get the water out of the carpet. Phooey!...
