Speeding and... Speeding and... Speeding and...
Smokin' the reefer.
Massachusetts legalized recreational marijuana last month, and tomorrow the law goes into effect. They estimate we won't see retail sales locations established until early 2018. Maybe mid-2018. One thing that has Beacon Hill worried is the lack of reliable field testing for DUI-marijuana. Not sure how they're going to handle that... |

This is actually harder than you think. Unless, you know, you've been doing it all along.

Pot heads do it. How hard can it be?

Um, actually, most potheads don't. Because it's harder than you think. Out here the experienced marijuana growers are farm boys who supplemented their income when the price of corn went in the toilet. You can hide a lot of MaryJane in a field of corn.

I think the difference is if you want the crop to be worth using - that might not be so easy

So this is probably a really convenient and convincing excuse to use when people try to peer pressure me into to sharing my weed, huh?

Why not share? It's like trying to distill your own whiskey -- if you do it right, you want to show off a little. You don't just plop seeds in the ground like tomatoes. It has to be grown in a secure location (that means indoors) with special grow lights, etc. They require constant tending, watering, pest control, yadda, yadda, yadda.
But yeah, if you produce some primo bud, you'd be the most popular person in your posse. ETA: Do the kids still say "posse?" |

Nice try but you're not getting any of my sweet primo home grown weed, Anacanapuna. I am immune to your peer pressure. Besides, I'll probably barely have enough for myself, and maybe Jackie cuz she's cool.

Well'Puna's in Colorado so scoring some nugs shouldn't pose a problem.

Joanie, we are betting it wouldn't be primo since you don't know what you are doing

Why do I know how invested people are into the science of growing your own?
When I wanted to have an aquarium with live plants, all my research on the right kind of aquarium lighting also turned up a pile of lighting info for growing other plants. Just last week when I wanted to know why the leaves were yellowing from the bottom up on my completely legal houseplant, the web taught me all sorts of helpful info about fertilizers, again targeted at growing other plants. There's an assload of grow-your-own wisdom out there, even if you're not looking for it. You don't see that sort of dedication to growing scheffleras. |

![]() I know a least one person - and she is in a club so she's not alone - who is seriously in to African Violets. but I know what you mean - I did once smoke something I also grew and it was....slightly better than nothing. and nothing at all as good as the Real Stuff. |

You've got nothing to lose. Give it a go! You may not end up with high-test, but you'll almost certainly end up with something smokable for cheap

The biggest secret to growing high grade pot is to start with good genetics. Seeds from a sack of Mexican brown will never give you dank brand nugs.
