What's your drama quotient?

In one of my recent threads, What do you like best about GB?, I noticed that a couple people mentioned the drama levels, both for and against.

Some people say that they really like drama on a message board. Others say they can't stand it. And maybe people are defining it differently. If you have a particular definition of drama on a message board, please share it.

I do have to say though, that when there's drama on a message board, view stats generally go up substantially. And often people who say they don't like drama show up in threads where it's happening. But if you're one of those people who don't like drama and are able to stay away from threads where it happens, raise your hand proudly.

What's your drama quotient?

Poll to follow. Votes are public. Choose wisely.

None of the poll options really apply to me. I do often enjoy reading drama on a message board but I hardly ever post in the threads. I prefer the lawnchair approach.

The drama quotient here is nothing like I've experienced IRL, so bring it on.

That once Backyard asked for Drama, I brought mere controversy.

I claim ownership of any negativity it engendered.

I typed that that way because I remember someone here absolutely hating the phrase 'my bad'.

I don't like drama based on our 'board personalities', like "I have insight into your personality because 'raffers are such a community. I can therefore say you're a retard." As opposed to "I have no idea who you are, but from what you said just there, I think you're a retard." I just hate it when people presume to know what kind of guy I am based on how they interpret some random post I didn't think anything of. I also hate that people might not call others out for blatant stupidity because they seem so nice on the internet.

So, I guess that means I hate drama because 99% of this Snackpit/Behind Your Back bullshit is based on the personalities of complete strangers.

Unless the 2nd amendment is involved, in which case, all bets are off.

There are people on this board. People engender drama. Therefore, drama there will be. We usually get past it and end up getting stupid drunk together.

I don't really hate it so much as I'm just not interested in it most of the time. Drama and snark get a big fat "meh" from me, and I move on elsewhere.

Yes, I voted "meh" and I rarely get involved. In fact, I rarely even read threads once they turn into drama-fests.

This. I've had enough drama in my own life in the past, and I have no interest in it when I'm online.

I voted "meh...".

I don't really care for it on line or IRL. I tend to avoid it in both areas.

My mother is a drama queen, so that's probably why I tend to avoid it if I can.

2nd Amendment, driving habits, or Miracle Whip vs. Mayonnaise, but that's not drama so much as hate, discontent and rancor.

I'm out at the top of the bell curve again, but I'm not a drama queen, I'm a drama connoisseur.

I've noticed Roo hasn't voted in her own poll... (Oh! I see this was already mentioned in the tags)

And I don't think Wednesday meant the "Royal We", she meant most of the rest of the board members and herself... that qualifies as we.

Why, my tapeworm and I love the theater! Thanks for asking!

Hey, roo, what are your thoughts on drama? I believe someone meant to ask you, but mistakenly did so in the tags section instead of the thread, and not in the form of a question. It's okay, anonymous poster, we all make mistakes!

It's okay. Roo for some reason sees red whenever I include myself in a group of posters here. Mods aren't supposed to feel included, I guess. OTOH, it allows her to stir up some drama.

I chose "I love drama and that's why I post here" - but I don't post in the drama threads, generally. I get a kick out of online drama! Some get tedious, however.

It's fun being a mod when drama ensues.

ETA: Shit. It's a zombie. that's what I get for not reading the whole thread.

It's not hard to explain really. After I read your post there above, I looked at the threads you created, and read the one about the best OTC sleep aid, and since you never responded after your last post, I want to know what you eventually found works best.

Of course I can't post in the thread, but if I could, I would, and that would be why.

Whatever man. At least it wasn't the robot surgery thread. I hate to think what random thread you might have zombied to get me to look at that one again.
I never did find an over the counter sleep aid that worked. The melatonin seemed to help with the staying-asleep problem, but I don't have enough of a sample size to feel right about recommending it.

So the "she", who seems to live for drama, in post 17 that you bumped this 4 year old thread with was about The Devil's Grandmother, who up until that time, hadn't posted in the thread at all?

And The Devil's Grandmother was supposed to telepathically know that you had just read some random thread by her and was talking to her in another random thread?

Yeah, right.

I bumped this thread just to annoy Roo. I was just explaining to the Devil why I sometimes respond to old threads.

This one is a no brainer. When I see somebody that is attempting to instigate some drama, I bump an old thread they started. Because I know it will pop up on their list.

Rarely does a drama queen have the ability to not respond to their own thread.

The other reason is it makes a thread show up on the first page, which makes research easier.

I didn't vote, because 'drama' is a term I only recognize from childhood black-and-white movies, so the poll didn't make sense to me.

If someone could explain what 'drama' means in a post 1990 sense, please do - in terms understood by an old fart who just wants kids to get off my lawn.

It means somebody gets seriously bent out of shape, butthurt, angry or even enraged, over something somebody typed out.

Thank you FX,

I guess I see drama much more on sports sites than on here.

There is the drama of younger spoiled Packer fans who feel that any season that
doesn't end with a SuperBowl win is a failure.

There is the drama of Brewers and Bucks fans who think that 'if you can't win the World Series or NBA Championship THIS OR NEXT YEAR - you should be tanking.

There is the drama of Wisconsin Badgers fans . . . . . wait um . . . . actually, until the Badgers actually win the National Championship in basketball or football, there are no expectations!!!!!!

says FX, the guy who was so butthurt about a tiny comment I made that he had to bump a 4 year old thread to try to annoy me.

FX, posting about how little you care over and over and over isn't very convincing. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
