My wife has died.
She was in declining health for several years. About two weeks ago, her blood sugar crashed(she was a diabetic) and yo-yoed up and down for two days. When it stabilized, she was foggy and unwilling to eat or drink. I finally persuaded her to go to the hospital but over the week she was there, she had, essentially, a whole system shutdown.
Yesterday, I honored her wish to not be kept alive by machine. We had over 37 years of good(with a few rocky patches) times. I'll miss you, honey.
