Yes, they did. Well, they triggered a notification, but since I wasn't on the website at the time, they didn't pop up (or polyp). And I got no pop-up like you get for PMs when I DID come to the boards tonight and hit UserCP. Weird. Not that it's a big deal or anything.

Full disclosure. That account was under the name Lycan. Is merged with this and that name and account no longer exist. 1. Just put the "@" symbol in front of a spelled out username--needs to be spelled and capitalized correctly.

2. The person mentioned gets a notification, just like a PEEM notification, that they might also have set up to send to their email letting them know they've been mentioned in a post.

3. Because not everyone reads every post or thread, the mention makes sure the user mentioned is notified that their attention is being requested in some manner. We use a "report post" button to bring attention of a mode, the mention tag is to bring the attention of a specific user. For example, if I had a nursing question that I'm pretty sure you'd know the answer to, I'd mention @eleanorigby to increase the likelihood that you'd be able to answer it.
